:)

Well I just got home from Redding. I had to go pick up my medicine and since my vet is right behind COSTCO I got the dogs some more food. The showers they forecast for today don't look as if they are coming as it is mostly clear and already into the upper 60s. The yard is just a little to short to mow and shaggy enough to look like crap. I may take my gas cans over later and fill them.

Tru,

I don't expect to live long enough to ever see that Coupe again and to tell the truth I really have quit thinking about it. The last time I talked to Bill he got mad and told me I had said I wasn't in any big hurry. That was in August when I took the car to him and with the Winter coming I wasn't in a hurry, but he told me he would have it by late February at the latest and he hasn't even done anything but get the dash all torn out and strung all over. I have the 69 and it gets as many looks as the Coupe did. Plus the fact no one believes me when I tell them what it is, so I carry a copy of the original order form in it in a plastic holder and when I show them that all I hear is I never heard of a Cobra in 1969. I thought they started making them in 1970. And they are impressed by the ( Nasty Word Following ) Big Block. I should get another set of stock wheels and have some new tires mounted for my driving as those 50 year old tires are still in great shape but I just don't trust them to far.

Ron
I have a 72 year old friend with a 1963 Ford Galaxie (390) with about 60K miles, and he has the original tires still on the car. I've never taken a ride. The sidewalls look like the dry lake beds of Utah.

Ron61 03-11-2008 12:05 PM

Warren,

My tires have been treated all these years and are still very flexible, but I still wouldn't trust them at a very long high speed. No cracks or anything that you can see, but 50 years is old for any tire.

Ron :(

:confused:Whatcha mean ?

since getting the first Harley, the Cobra hasn't been getting as many miles it deserves.:(

I went to the Mapsco Map store while ago to get the lastest maps for Texas,Arkansas and Oklahoma for the first three legs of my motorcycle tour.

I was checking out the roads out of North Texas into the NORTHERN STATES ().

Was looking at a road north out of Paris into Oklahoma.

What are the odds that the first town north of PARIS (Tx) is named Frogville (OK)!

Sounds like a good place for Warren's next vacation.

Ron61 03-11-2008 01:40 PM

Fred,

That would be great for Warren. You should have gotten the travel packages the states back there send out. They have the state maps plus all of the interesting places and things to do. Arkansas puts out 3 small books in theirs covering places of interest and everything else. And the state map they sent has every little town in the state on it. Even my big atlas that I got down at the truck stop doesn't show a lot of the small towns.

Ron :)

I ordered those books from Arkansas over a month ago online. They had 2" worth of material in my mailbox 3 days later.Very impressed !!!
You sure are right about their map, much better. They even send a map that outlines several scenic routes, all over the state,
for motorcycles.Even motels that are just for motorcycles.VERY motorcycle friendly state.

wtm442 03-11-2008 02:07 PM

Admit it Fred, you do not drive the Cobra that often because you are busy riding the Harley and the Humpin 'Ho Sisters. Right? :D

Frogville? I bet that's a hoppin' town.

Drove down a street that I have not been on in a while. All of the houses are water view ... houses on inland side of dirt road, Quincy Bay on other side of road. Every so often a house goes up for sale, and they are usually in the 500K to 1 M price range.

I almost coughed up a lung when I saw this new monstrosity. Has to be less than 2 years old. If I were a neighbor, I would have killed the bastard a long time ago.

So just for the halibut, I looked up the property on the local accessors database. To my surprise, there is a different house pictured, it was 5500 sq ft and was built in 2005. Someone bought the house for 914K, tore it down and put up this monstrosity.

Some people have their taste buds stuck where the sun don't shine. Does anyone like the looks of the house?

392cobra 03-11-2008 02:30 PM

Their next door neighbors fence looks better than that house .

I wish I could afford to buy it from you, just so I could get it back on the road. I know I would like to see someone get mine on the road if I couldn't do it/couldn't get someone local to do it. It just really irritates me that you are having to deal with this.

I reserve the right to ignore whomever I want and I do not need to explain my actions. I may have to ignore Ibrake4vetts because I have no idea why, or for what he is apologizing for. I will also apologize for ending the last sentence with a preposition, just in case Kristen reads this post.

Beam me up Scottie .... time for my pills.:LOL::LOL:

Mike,

I wondered why you had stopped posting. I enjoyed your posts and know of nothing that you have said that was in any way offensive to any of us. After all Turtle and Frog Farmers have to have a thick sense of humor.

Kristen,

The check is in the mail and I didn't even get to use the states money. :D
