CdC,
Any reason that the Carrera GT didn't make the list over the Aston? It was higher on the list of the 10 most expensive cars than the Aston. http://www.automotoportal.com/articl...s_in_the_world

BTW, didn't you say that English cars are lame? You do know that Astons and McLarens are built in the UK, right?

I do have to admit, though, that I had never heard of a Koenigsegg CCX. I looked it up, and it does have an impressive set of stats. Thanks for the pointer on that one.

Steve

Driving the most expensive cars in the world would be a thrill for me, as to the Carrera - I had one years ago - it was a piece of S__T. I was just kidding about UK cars, that's what I do. You just don't get my sense of humor.

Good boy, Steve...you earned a lollypop.

I didn't list Cobras...already have one...but I'd love an original slabside: BRG/oxblood/painted wires, etc.

Sal...I had an 89 SHO...what the heck's a "Plus?"

The Plus was a limited model they made in 91 only, to the tune of about 1500 cars. Basically, it had all the styling cues that were coming out for the new Gen 2 model the next year. It also had the desireable "power bugle" hood, which was a plastic hood with a raise in the midsection.

It was more cosmetics than anything, but with the plastic hood, it was the lightest SHO build, and also the quickest. My old black 91 Plus ran 14.9 @ 93 mph bone stock.

Picture of my old 91 Plus...

What the hell's so desireable about the hood...either you or I could lighten our cars substantially by simply letting somebody else drive.

I loved my black SHO...put 150k on that sucker driving all over California without any tickets (they were invisable).

My law partner and I were staying in Carmel. The next morning at sunrise we took my SHO and his 300ZX Turbo down to Big Sur and back several times, trading cars each time just for sh!ts and giggles. Trust me when I tell ya that going from a high powered front wheel drive to a high powered rear wheel drive (no traction or yaw controls back then) on a damp Highway 1 is a great way to get your blood flowing in the morning.

I was in Russia two years ago and saw some trabants still running around.
Found a page on them that is an interesting read: http://www.team.net/www/ktud/trabi.html
dang it, I got this in here but it doesn't look like it will take you there -
it isn't blue. Someone feel free to help me here!
It was not a performance car!

Well I see it is blue so maybe it will work after all. LOL

Warren,
It is good to see that you have such a fine taste in cars.It makes up (a little) for Turtle.

I have a '76 'Vette Scooter, original owner.Hard to beat the Classic lines, power & handling of the first year for the 'Vette Scooter.
It is all* original except for the wheels.

Running that 'Vette through all 4 gears to redline and then jumping on those hard hitting drum brakes brings on feelings unlike any other car I've ever driven.Corners can bring up those same feelings as well.

* After the plywood covering the small hole (1' x 1') in the driver's floorpan rotted out,I figured it was time to fix the 'Vette the way such a classic deserves.
I was lucky enough to find some vintage a/c duct work washed up on the beach..After using my bodyworking skills using a hammer and a 2x4,it fit.

I wonder why they only made 9,810 76 'Vette Scooters that year ???

Why do Yugos have heated rear windows? So your hands stay warm while you push!

Jamo, you are right--I knew you would be the one! You earned the pleasure of buying me lunch, dinner or whatever we have the opertunity at. Good Job!
Everybody knows DB4's were made up to 1963, IT was way too old for the late 60's Bond movie. DB5's run better too- They perfected a bad design only as the Brits could.
