Plame. Another notch.
You've got to hand it to this administration. Between carefully placing favorable judges, invoking "expanded" Executive Privilage, buying into national media and plain old standing firm, they've formed a gutsy political consortium that's hard ...maybe impossible ...to beat in the long run.
Other than the unfortunate timing-of-war fiasco, they've seldom made a recent miscalculation. Even the congressional balance is still so close it doesn't really hurt, almost like a planned risk. That's great politics. They know how to play the game and one has to admire a winner. It may have started with Baker/Reagan ...but now the almost invisible Karl Rove is a tactician genius.
In spite of this not being so great from my powerless middle-class perspective.
