disappointed, broken hearted and need to vent

I just do NOT understand. Someone tell me why Operation Comfort is not getting any more support from this community. I am dissapointed, heart broken BUT I WILL NOT QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of the cobra clubs except one do not have a thread about this on their site.

No cobra owner that I have done appraisels for at NO CHARGE have donated to this cause.

Not one single person that I have helped monetarily has sent a dime.

Not one donation from Ohio where I made a MAJOR donation to give a motocycle to the LPD. Not one donation from the club that I matched dollar for dollar for their LCS.

So far only 23 donations have been recieved and I get updates every single day.

As Ron61 asked...only two donations from California? yep what a shame!

No manufacturer that I have consulted with has contributed.

I just don't uderstand the apathy is this country! Are we all soo self centered and self absorbed that that we have become deaf and heartless?

Is Starbucks THAT damn demanding on our lives?

Only One of the countless people that I have loaned trailers to has contributed.

Only one of the people that have had their car in my shop has given.

I got blasted on one post for what they thought was trying to shame people to support this cause...as of right now...DAMN RIGHT... all favors are to be repaid!

THESE ARE AMERICAN SOLDIERS! THEY HAVE PAID A TREMEBDOUS PRICE AND WILL FOR AS LONG AS THEY LIVE

What are you talking about? Sorry, but I am in the dark here.

Corporate sponsors are helping some and we are getting more in time, but individuals need to get on board.

I need to stop now or stroke city. I WILL NOT STOP on this project but without help and repayment of favors I will on others.

Sorry for the vent but dang I DON'T feel better.

Talking about my thread repaying wounded American soldiers and Operation Comfort. Have no idea what caused the multiple posts.

Jay

bomelia 07-31-2007 08:05 PM

Maybe it was frustration;)

But still, I must have missed it. BTW, not sure yelling at people will cause things to change. Try something else?

Mike

jayscobras 07-31-2007 08:13 PM

Chit what is going on with this computer

This is the only one that is finished and meant to post.

Jay

jayscobras 07-31-2007 08:17 PM

yep Mike

You missed it. That's why I posted in the lounge instead of on the thread.
It is also why it was titled the way it was.

Sorry to bother you.

Jay

Jay,
I understand your frustration.

Sorry to say (not really) that the majority of people are good at talking the talk but won't walk the walk.
They will be right there with the right words but as soon as a dollar out of their pocket comes into play, they bail.
When it comes to money people can do awfully good things or awfully bad things.
It is about charactor.

Have you thought of posting this thread on the TCC Site ?

Excaliber 07-31-2007 09:56 PM

I saw the original thread Jay, while the Vets and this cause have my sympathy I do prefer to donate to worthy local causes. One reason is to be able to track actual performance of my contributions. Don't loose the faith just because others don't understand the need as deeply as you do. Good luck and God bless!

Howdy Jay,

Yes, I feel your pain.

Earlier this month I had to go to the VA. It was a very rainy day and I had to park over a 1/4 a mile away from the doorway into the VA because all of the parking spaces that were for the "Customers" IE Disabled Vets like myself were all taken.

By the time I got into the building, I was completely soaked. When I finally made to the desk to check in for my appointment, the 300lb woman that was sitting behind the counter, whom had never been in the military, muchless a disabled combat vet, started yelling at me because I was getting her floor wet. I explained to her about how far I had to walk in the rain to get inside the building because all of the parking spots were taken. She replied something like " I was lucky. Just as I got back from lunch, a man was pulling out of a handicap parking spot next to the front door, so I parked in it." I asked her if she had a handicap parking premit. She replied "No, but the police all know my car so it will be ok."

Atlest the rain had stopped by the time I got ready to leave.

Support the War, but screw the troops.

Paul

I suggest instead of worrying about what others are doing you sell one of your many cars and the right thing, Jay.

I have donated not only a car to this cause but also a motorhome and a lot of cash. Haven't seen your name on any donation list.:)

Y'know, many people may be involved in something similar. I donate to Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. http://www.mc-lef.org/ They provide 100% of their donations for children of Marines or Federal law enforcement personnel who were killed on duty or died under extraordinary circumstances while serving our country at home or abroad.

These funds enable us to provide these children with scholarships for their higher education. When a child of a United States Marine is afflicted with a physical or mental disability and requires special medical equipment or tutoring, our Foundation may grant financial assistance to that family if their personal insurance does not cover the complete cost of treatment for this child.

Now I also am a member of a private cigar club. http://metrocigar.com. We have a dinner once per month at the club. We pass the hat and collect between 4-600 bucks from members. We buy cigars and purchase stuff at Costco like coffee, toothpaste, hand warmers, etc. We've been sending these packages for years on a monthly basis to Marines in forward combat areas.

Hanging on a wall at our club is a Marine flag signed by members of the 2nd Force Recon Company. In addition, they sent us an American flag that flew over Camp Ripper, Iraq. http://www.priveye.com/dls/marines.jpg

What I'm saying is that some of the people you are trashing may be helping in other ways.

hey,littlecobra 08-01-2007 07:33 AM

hey, Jay. I follow you around on your threads.... ;)

I have been involved with MANY volunteer/fundraising events. What is near and dear to my heart is not what is always near and dear to someone else's. I will shake my head in disbelief at my FRIENDS (and yes, i mean friends) when they don't contribute to MY cause. I have FINALLY learned to accept it- and they are STILL my friends. :)
I donate to many many very worthy causes- but then again i do skip a few.
I guess what I'm saying here, is keep your cool. You won't change anybody's mind, or 'make somebody' donate because you're bummed.
It's just the way folks are.
Focus on being POSITIVE and appreciative for those that HAVE donated, and just let go of your disappointment of those that don't. They can all still be your friends.
Regarding your contri. to LCS, etc., you are donating to the London police, and to CF. Not to the local Cobra group. I'm sure there are countless members of those groups who donated huge amounts of time and $$ as well.
Remember, dear friend, we all have our causes. :)
most affectionately, ;)

Maybe if I got my a$$ out of the lounge once in a while, I would have noticed this. Sorry. What Roscoe and Kristen say is true. But, thought it was a good cause, so sent some via paypal.

Please be patient with people.

Mike

Roscoe 08-01-2007 07:49 AM

Mike,

Why don't you send me some money too before I get pissed?

Jay

I assume you have the means to check them all?

Until you do, STFU.

Perhaps laying off the booze before you post would be a good thing.

Roscoe 08-01-2007 08:00 AM

Or he's mixing the blue pills with the little yellow ones again......

Roscoe

You are correct about one thing, I meant to say "the Operation Comfort donation list" I apologize if it came out "all lists". As for the booze, sorry you missed that one, had not even had a glass of wine:)

As for STFU, I will say anything that I feel compelled to on this "public forum". The same right as you have.

Jay
