Maybe I'll wear a ribbon and put alot of bumper stickers on my car so it will look like I care more than anyone else.
Turning off lights, a good thermostat, etc is just common sense. Most of us have always done that.
It's all about control.....whether it be energy, smoking, tolerance (I hate that word) or political correctness......it's all about control.
And maybe no one is asking me to get rid of the Cobra but if this BS keeps up someone will force me to.

My wife does that passive aggressive thing too. Go ahead - it's your car - if you want to make it look like a Nascar reject you are welcome to do so.
I think you would be surprised at the number of people who don't do those common sense things. We might think that it is common sense, but there are plenty of people who have no idea that programmable thermostats even exist!
I agree, to an extent, that some of it is about control, but some of it is about personal control and common courtesy as well.

What's wrong, Mike - not using a programmable thermostat? They can even be useful for AC, y'know. You can probably even install it yourself - should only be 4 wires or so. Let me know if you need help.

Very cool! I had no idea you guys were that automated. Ours are all Manuel windows. We push a button and some guy named Manuel comes in and opens them for us.
Anyway, back to topic...
Does anybody else live in a town/city with mandatory recycling?

Is he here legally? BTW, your "Nuclear (nuculear) winter" answer was pure pustulence (to quote Freddie).
