Talk about pulling fictitious facts from the air. You sir do not know me. As such, you have little right to make such statements.
Lucky? My relatives came here LEGALLY through Ellis Island during the Potato Blight in Ireland. Lucky? Yes. Legally? Yes. What did your realtives do? Sprout from the ground?
BTW, the Berring Land Straight theory has detractors and supporters. Don't give me this crap about a few historians having a different opinion. Also, do not dissect my posts. It is elitist and annoying.
I now reverse my statement about you gaining a bit of a sense of humor. You have very little humor based on that statement and your understanding of me. The second half of my post was meant was said in jest, and those that KNOW me know that. You refuse to take time to get to know folks...just charge into the bar and start throwing punches. Not very nice of you. Bad boy.

Well well....now who has the case of the "thin shinnies" (your saying)??...lol
Listen big boy, if you can dish it out learn to take it. The posts speak for them selves. What I mean by that is; first time confronting each other YOU sir were rude and obnoxious. How do you expect people to be nice to you and forward respect if you can not, and will not give it yourself. Lead by example.
I am a real nice guy, but I TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY THEY TREAT ME.......If you claim I "was coming around" do you think I am trying to gain you acceptance?
I have tried to be nice to you but sir you offer little for motive. It seems every little thing you write bashes my country my home and where my family calls home. You would do no different. I love my country and you should stop. You should know better coming from a 3rd generation Irish decent that knows struggle.
I also own a home in Florida. I love both flags. Both countries have the good points and bad. I do not want to air my opinion on this any longer.
So I ask for the last time let us call it off and stop the country bashing and I will drop my arms.
Ball is in your court.

All you have to do is ask the Inuit, Ojibwa, Iroquois, Huron, Apache, etc what happens when you don't control immigration.

I don't think most have a problem with immigration. It is the word ILLEGAL that concerns most. Even the Indians migrated from some place else.
Our main problem is that ILLEGALS are sucking our resources dry. My wife is an immigrant, but LEGAL. It takes time, money, and patience to get here. I want to know if the person coming in is a criminal, sick, and has an income, so they aren't a dependent on our already weakened system.

Exactly,
My sentiments. You have a way of explaining things that isn't insulting. A few people could learn from you.

All I am saying is, don't come into a forum and start throwing punches as a newbie. Yes, you are a newbie until you hit some undefined level of posts...means you at least know the personalities. Me hate? Hate who? I did NOT throw any first punch. Go back and read the threads with an open mind. Its election season, and they are coming out of the woodwork again.
Venamm has a very appropriate user name.

Don't think for a minute their lawmakers decided on their own to just up and passed this law. The citizens of Colorado made it known their demands..period
Colorado HB 1023--a new and tough anti-illegal-immigration law in Colorado--will require tens of thousands in Colorado to prove they are legal residents before receiving certain government services. The new law, passed this month, is the toughest in the country.
This, I hope, will spread....

Me too Perry.
I am so tired of being called ugly things because I want illegal immigration halted. 12 million just from Mexico!! Maybe a blip on the radar at 3%... but with chain migration, that could turn into 100 million or 28% essentially overnight. The political, socio-economic implications are enormous. Lets just cut to the chase. Who stands to gain the most politically? But what the politicians just do not seem to understand is that the people WANT control of the borders. Me? I am not opposed to sending 12 million illegals back to where they came from. I am sick of the argument that that cannot realistically be done. What really is meant is that it is politically undesirable.
Both parties would suffer from that but for different reasons.
So our salad and oranges cost more. Who cares? My gas is up 200-300% over the last few years. These artificially depressed prices have severe implications for the future when the dam busts, just like it did for gasoline.
So build the fence. Halelooyah! (proper spelling is frowned upon by proper Christians). I'm still sending funds to the minute men and fence project.
Oh, and as the pressure builds on illegals, watch what happens when they start pouring into the other country north of us.
Mike

Yep, some may view it as harsh, but it really is the direction we need to go. They also passed some other ones including HB1017. One of the drawbacks to this one is that it tends to let employers off the hook for hiring illegals unless the situation is really over the top.
We really need to go at this from a variety of different directions. This administration and this and the last Congress really just don't get it.

Steve,
I agree with your assessment of the bill they passed and that employers have to be made accountable for hiring illegals. But the one problem that I see right now is that the unions have caused the labor costs here to be so high that many small businesses just can't pay everything the unions demand. I agree that law isn't harsh at all and that we need to go a lot farther. But I don't know of any way that the problem can be solved soon as we have waited to long to decide to close the gates. And for crying out loud, don't get us barred from Canada, as I may need to move there for health care.

Ok, now that you have proved you don't care about anything but your opinion, how about explaining why people like me who happen to believe in God should just roll over and pretend that you are the ultimate authority on everything? You have a right to be anti religious, but to state that religion is CRAP is pushing it a little far. And also when did you start paying taxes in Oklahoma?
Ron

Ron,
Wrong thread, but ok...
I have put up with many years of being insulted by religious folks and I probably tend to view most religions as fair game. There are certain aspects of religions that I do think are crap, but there are are some good elements to religions as well.
Feel free to do whatever you want with your religion, but you have no right to expect me to contribute towards it. And my taxes here in MA have contributed towards religious displays on public land. And anything that I am forced to pay for but do not want to pay for falls into the definition of crap as far as I am concerned.

A fence across the boarder is a silly idea to deal with the problem. Right up there with building a piranha infested moat. So long as we keep providing them with incomes, social services, ignoring expired visas, etc... regardless of what we put up, they will find a way around it (or over, or under, or...). Of course the other way to look at it is so long as Mexico is not providing those things for them, they will keep coming. Hmm.

Bo,
I was thinking about this for some time now, what would happen to the home markets if all of a sudden there were all the empty house and apartments left by a full deportation such as you would like?
