Probably plea bargain as he was just using tax payers money for entertainment. Bribery and having the potential to become a U.S. Senator would fall under a more serious set of charges I would think.

You'd think he would be a little more careful on the phone since the Patriot Act. Well now he can take a lot of showers to cleanse himself. He may be asked to do some shower things that he considers not safe ...very basic things...

Spitzers national career hopes ended with troopergate...using the state investigative police to conduct a witchhunt fro personal gain. His crime in this case is not $, but a federal offense for transporting women across state lines for purposes of prostitution. It is too good that this guy was hoisted on his own petard...he destroyed a couple of Wall Street guys for frequenting ho's like this. He will try to weasel out (like Craig and all the rest), but he's done.
Hillary must be wondering what else can go bad...he is (was?) a superdelegate for her.

Spitzer Resigns From Emperors VIP Club

Amid calls for him to resign, embattled New York Governor Eliot Spitzer held a hastily-scheduled press conference in Albany today.
“After much deliberation, I have decided to resign my membership in the Emperors VIP Club, effective immediately,” Mr. Spitzer said. “I hope that in doing so, I will allow the healing to begin.”
Mr. Spitzer expressed his regret over the recent sex scandal, telling reporters, “I have let down my fellow Emperors and VIPs, whose privacy has been unfortunately violated.”
Under a transition plan worked out with the Emperors VIP Club, Customer Number Ten would immediately succeed Governor Spitzer and become Customer Number Nine.
Mr. Spitzer confirmed that he had already handed over his key to room number 871 in the Mayflower Hotel to his successor.
In a parting shot, Gov. Spitzer lashed out at the New York Post for serving up “an embarrassingly unimaginative headline” the morning after the sex scandal broke.
“I gave you a juicy story like this, and the best you could come up with was ‘Ho, No’?” the governor said.

I just saw the latest headlines and some of the legislature there is wanting him out in 48 hours or they want to impeach him. That would be hard to do as he is a friend of Hillerys.

I want to know what $5500 per hour buys?  I have a pretty good imagination and I can't imagine anything that you couldn't get for $500!
At least he wasn't screwing the taxpayers like usuall.................

Just in case someone here is really interested, this is the rate card from the Emerors Club VIP: It appears that a three diamond gal is $1,000 per hour - the minimum, perhaps less on a multiple hour basis. Hmmmmm.....
There are apparently employment opportunities as well, but I doubt that they are looking for any Cobra owners.

The reports coming out now say he has spent over $83k with the hoochie club....WOW! That must be what they mean by snappin' p*****; sure was snappin' up a lot o' greenbacks!
Lets see; in the reports the girl is listed as 5'5", 105 lbs. He spent $4300 (this time); thats $66.15/inch or $40.95/lb. I wonder how much Oprah would bring! 
I am glad the little bast*** got his comeuppance; but I feel badly for his wife and teenage girls........

At those rates I bet Warren will stick with Frenchy and the Ho Sisters. Fred, when are you going to form a rating system for them based on that.
Doing the math I could afford about .005 seconds with the cheapest one.
