Anybody wanna take bets on who is going to resign first, Spitzer or Larry Craig?
Craig has a big headstart, but I think Spitzer just might beat him to the finish of his carreer.

Spitzer: I’ve Been Screwed


NY Guv Answers Prostie Charges


Embattled New York Governor Eliot Spitzer held a hastily scheduled press conference to answer charges that he patronized a prostitution ring, telling reporters, “I’ve been screwed.”

While Mr. Spitzer refused to elaborate on his comment, he added for emphasis, “I’ve been screwed and it’s cost me a lot.”

Aides to the New York governor applauded him for responding quickly to the charges but across the state political observers wondered if he had raised more questions than he had answered.

Mr. Spitzer, who has endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), did receive a vote of support from her husband, former President Bill Clinton, who offered to “take over his position” if the governor is forced to step down.

“I am happy to perform all of the roles that Eliot has been performing,” Mr. Clinton said, adding that he had the experience to make crucial phone calls at 3 A.M.

You'd think he would be a little more careful on the phone since the Patriot Act. Well now he can take a lot of showers to cleanse himself. He may be asked to do some shower things that he considers not safe ...very basic things...

Spitzers national career hopes ended with troopergate...using the state investigative police to conduct a witchhunt fro personal gain. His crime in this case is not $, but a federal offense for transporting women across state lines for purposes of prostitution. It is too good that this guy was hoisted on his own petard...he destroyed a couple of Wall Street guys for frequenting ho's like this. He will try to weasel out (like Craig and all the rest), but he's done.
Hillary must be wondering what else can go bad...he is (was?) a superdelegate for her.
