Perry,
My history is fine - our nations policies have been out of whack for longer than either Bush or Clinton. Bin Ladens reasons for attacking us goes back to Bush1, and earlier. No single President is to blame, but most of them have done little to fix it either.
BTW, I met Clinton - I didn't like him either. Why do so many of you folks assume that because I don't like Bush that I must like Clinton?

We were attacked - again (two embassy bombings in 1998, World Trade Center 1993, Dhahran Saudi Arabia 1996, USS Cole 2000) - because we had a very weak President who refused to walk the line as George W. Bush has done.

Untrue.
We have many more allies now than we had in 2001. While the media would like us to believe that we're reviled, it's patently false.
Furthermore, when people decide to leave their countries - for whatever reason; be it persecution, a better life or anything else - they come the United States of America. Common sense - something lacking in statements like "Now, our policies have changed because of GW, and more of the world hates us than ever before" and other statements by the PlayDoh brain trust - dictates that people don't move to the country they hate.
Duh.

GWs policies are making it a lot tougher for the guys standing watch to do their job, and we are losing a lot of what makes this country great in the process.

We haven't been attacked here because of George W. Bush, his policies, and the departments he has empowered through excellent work as the President of the United States.
I'm sure that there are nut jobs out there that believe that enforcing policies and creating departments to manage them is 'losing a lot of what makes this country great' ... but that's talking from the wrong end of the horse.
George W. Bush will be remembered as a great president, and a great man. Not by the liberals ... but who cares what them lying sacks of sh!t say anyway?

Then perhaps that is the reason we should have used to invade. There would be very little argument from anybody about the reason.
Though I suppose we would have still ended up looking stupid for torturing people to find out who was commiting crimes against humanity.

Incorrect. You history is incorrect, and your assumptions about bin Laden's "reasons" are 'out of whack' as well.
bin Laden's actions and reasons for his actions are very well documented. You should read up on him before posting next time.

This statement cannot be proved as fact, ONLY as an opinion.

Nope. It can be proven through agency reports, research, and the FACT that we haven't been attacked here.

I don't know, my beloved snakehead compadre ...fact is, we haven't been attacked within our borders again since 9/11 despite numerous calls for such activitiy by Osama and his fellow travelers. Truth is, I'd rather have the war go on for another 100 years in the Middle East than have a single building come down again in these here United States. And yes...regardless of why we went into Iraq, it sent a message to the entire region. Yes, we've lost 4,000 good folks and thousands more have been injured...but at least they were prepared to fight for their country. The folks in their offices at the WTC weren't prepared for what they got.
Sometimes, I get the feeling that some folks forget what our guts felt like that morning...

NO ONE can tell EXACTLY why we have not been attacked since 9/11. Did the terrorists blow their whole wad on that day?
Everyone has opinions, and that is ALL they are, is opinions.

Celby, did you conveniently forget those U.S. terrorist cells that were stopped before they could act?. How EXACTLY were they stopped??.

I believe that the Chinese are going to be a bigger threat to the US than the Isamic terrorists are. If it weren't for a galzillion barrels of oil, these Arabs would just be out in the dessert chasing each other around on the backs of camels.
The Chinese on the other hand are about to surpass the US both economically and militarily. They are increasing military spending by double digit amounts, year after year after year. Right now it is Tibet, in another year or two they will be taking over Taiwan. A few years after that, who knows? There will be little that the US or anyone else can do to stop their aggression. Oh, and they aren't worried about terrorists because they will just kill them.
All of the above is just my opinion.
Wayne
