Ya I thought so too. I thought it was a Beach Boys creation and had no idea Shelby was involved. Wonder who owns that very special CSX today.
Off the top of my head, I don't know the CSX number of Carol's Cobra, but I do believe that it was purchased originally in 1963, and I seem to recall that it was a 260-powered model.
The Cobra on the cover of the Rip Chords album was CSX2128, which was a 289 powered Cobra called the 'Sebring Roadster.' It's got a pretty extensive race history.
If I recall correctly that Cobra was auctioned off at a big car auction a year or so ago, and brought around $2 million. For some reason I want to think it was Russo Steele that had the car but that is probably not correct.
