Sounds like parent neglect to me. Didn't teach the kid about guns, and
sure made it available. I'd be willing to bet the kid found it loaded too.
I can clearly remember being taught about guns from about 4 years old
and no way would I ever have considered doing what this girl did. Everyone
is very fortunate that the story ended this way. The parents should, at the
very least, be required to attend a gun safety class, and bring the kid
with them.
