He cannot answer that question. There is no such law - liberal spin is all that he posts, but at least he's easily nailed.

Using Google and the search term: Obama is a Muslim, returns 385,000 web results:

http://search.earthlink.net/search?q...nnel=broadband

Within the 385K, must be an internet entry ( s ) to substantiate/validate what ever opinion anyone has or wishes to believe is correct.

Will the question be asked in the Presidential debates ?

Gentlemen...let's get back to his ears.

Yes, the slip of his usually practiced tongue was extremely funny and interesting, but religion, like someone's race, is a hot button with alot of folks. We're trying to let folks have some fun and argue about the real issues during the election season with a bit more hands-off approach, but some stuff like this starts overflowing my PM cache.

No sense arguing about this message or the First Amendment, etc. Just help us out here.

So...back to his ears if you please. Much appreciated.

According to the US Constitution, you have to be a US citizen, lived in the US for 14 years, and be 35 years old. There is nothing in the US Constitution that says he/she can't be Muslim, Christian, Hare Krishna, or FSM.

Quite honestly, I think we could use a Muslim president. They would have a much better insight into how to shut down the radical element of their religion. They would also tend to not alienate the honest and honourable Muslims in our society whose help we could use in routing out the criminals in their midst.

And since taking candidates comments out of context seems to make a legitimate election issue, lets look at some by McCain:

"The issue of economics is not something I've understood as well as I should," Ok, well, maybe this is a bad example of taking a comment out of context - it sounds like he just does not know that much about the economy.

Maybe this is a better example:

"I will conduct a respectful debate. Now, it will be dispirited -- it will be spirited -- because there are stark differences. I am a proud conservative, liberal Republica-- conservative Republican...Hello? Easy there."

Hmmm...He is liberal republica? Well republica is Spanish for Republic - we do not have a whole lot going on with Spain right now, but I bet it's Mexico! Yep! He sponsored that immigration bill with kennedy - that clinches it! Liberal and republica!

And if the DNC were to win Congress in 2006:
"I think I'd just commit suicide."

Should we take him seriously on this one? Or is he just holding off until he gets elected and can have Palin take over.

Steve

Steve...I'll assume you posted before reading my commentary.

No more folks...you wanna talk about slip of the tongues (which the last half of Steve's post does and CDC's original post did), that's fine...but don't go deeper into religious tiffs.

An opportunity to hear the candidates directly on the issues as compared to Opinion/Commentary columns, reporter's interpretations , sometimes mixed with their own opinions, and the audio news clips which may or may not convey the entire message. The web link explains the Debate format etc., etc.,

*** Wall St Journal.com

New Format Is Proposed for Presidential Debates

Brad Haynes reports on the presidential race.

The Commission on Presidential Debates has proposed three debates featuring a more conversational style without the 30-second responses and time buzzers from previous election years. The debates would consist of eight 10-minute segments, with the moderator proposing a topic and then allowing the candidates to discuss.

Two of the debates would take place with the candidates seated at a table – playing down Sen. Barack Obama’s height advantage over Sen. John McCain – and one would be in a town hall format, where candidates can sit in stools or roam around.

The debates will take place Sept. 26 through Oct. 15 at universities in Mississippi, Tennessee and New York. The commission said seating arrangements are negotiable but the dates and locations of the debates are not up for debate.

*** Commission on Presidential Debates Announces Sites, Dates, Formats and Candidate Selection Criteria for 2008 General Election

http://www.debates.org/pages/news_111907.html

The dates and sites are:

First presidential debate:
Friday, September 26
University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS

Vice presidential debate:

Now why in the world would they choose to sit in stool?

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Obama's ability to see "The Big Picture" is what scares me to death! I shudder to think about the how he would react under pressure.

i would say, and this is purely opinion, he has more muslim tendancies

so back to the original u tube clip i would call it a slip of the truth which

i will sit back now and let the libs wine and name call and tell me about
george bush who we all know is running for president.
I'm a lib. It's well known on this forum.

But, you are 100% right about Obama. If anything, your too easy on him.

I'm a Democrat. People like Feinstein, Boxer and a few others are not Dems, they are socialist, not Dems.

Obama? Gee, who knows what he really is. Sure he was in the IL state senate for a few years 8 or 9 or so, and like 2 weeks in the US Senate before he started running for President. Gee, and he talks about McCain being a career politican.

I just don't trust Obama.

Paul

P.S. Where's Hillary when you really need her?
