PS - at least two European countries (excl ex-USSR countries) have ICBM's and nuke armed subs, so don't be too comfortable, although they are far too civilized to use them, of course.

See that's our advantage, we're less civilized.

Jamo,

Lions drive american muscle cars and drink Pabst and kill other males when they mess with their ladies. Tigers drive imports and drink apple-tinis at the disco. End of discussion.

Amazing how some people are stupid enough to think that mankind has "evolved" from 60 years ago...

Europeans especially...

Personally, I have no doubt our third global conflict will rise out of europe (again) when we stop babysitting them.

There's an old saying "talk is cheap", especially when your a disarmed public like most of europe. You have freedom of speech, but no means of defending it. We have the same forces at work here but they haven't succeded, yet.

Europe has already laid the foundation for the next Hitler with the Euro, Germany will soon tire of the rest of Europe's lousy economies riding on it's back. (kinda like ours)

Coxswain, there are many Americans that look to Europe's example... Many want to follow it, thankfully (for you and us), many more that do not.
Thank's for making my point so clear - If you don't like them... nuke them

May I remind you that the rebels we (yes - we too have soldiers beeing killed there) are fighting in Afghanistan are the ones US trained and armed in the first place

My point was (and is): US have the possibility to do something good - why spend all the resources on war (with some European government following) - just show me one eksemple where war and not mutual development have made a country prosper...

If we together try to focus our resources in developing lasting progress for the entire world to benefit... then we just might have a chance for peace

2.5 billion in India and China... china alone are opening one power plant per week based on fossil fuel !!!

The middle east conflicts are mostly about oil... and almost all world conflict are about energy - and soon fresh water and than raw material will create conflict - there are more that 3 billion people looking to share our lifestyle with all the "benefits" of cars, tv, pc, - not to talk of basics as water, heating, food...

So open your eyes for the world - don't think US forces are the answer...

PS: Only after US invaded Kuwait we have seen real terrorism in Europe - before that is was only a few stupid "old fasion cummunist" like "rote arme fraction" back in the 70'

Before US entered middle east nobody in Europe minded Muslims (not since approx. year 1200 that is...) - we all lived peacefully together... - now it it on the agenda every day
