Can a European guy just add a little :

Here in Europe approx. 80% are hoping that the Republican nightmare will end soon.

Problem as we (read any European paper) see it:

If US could stick to concentrate on DOMESTIC affairs we don't care... BUT the minute US take on the role as World Police and try to tell us all how we are to live it goes very wrong...

- Why is it that you Americans always think you know better
- Why don't you look to your own challanges (poor people, crime rates, polution, energy consumption, dependency of fossil fuel vs. co2 neutral)

I'm convinced that the general oppionion here in Europe is that the best US could do for the World is: Fix you own problems - and doing that... come up with solutions that can be implementred in the 3'th world.

Are you aware the Europeans think US is the biggest risk for peace in the world - and one of the worst in not developing "Green energy"

PS: Before some radical person calls me all kind of things... I'm 47, father of 2 girls, holds an MBA in Economics and are the President of a Food Business in Europe...

Written like a true European socialist/marxist. Why are you Europeans so looking
forward to the end of the Republican nightmare? Do you even understand our form
of government? The fact of the matter is that the majority of our government(Congress)is run by the Democrat party and more than likely will be the case after this election.

Why do we think we know better? How about World War II? Did we not know what was "better" then? Where would Europe be if the United States hadn't freed them?

Sorry for trying to put some European perspective into YOUR election debate - I should have known better... known that the response would be very constructive and based on facts...

Try to read your own responses, and you have the answer to why US are not always seen as positive and open to others opinion

I have seen what Europe has done for 3rd world countries, and thanks to the "bad" USofA Navy..... "33 Soviet-designed tanks" haven't ended up in Somali possession.

While we did join in to WW2 and kick some serious butt, it is doubtfull we would have won against Germany solo if we did not have a friendly base (England) to jump off from. It is also doubtful that an invasion would have worked if Hitler had not gone after Russia and created a second front.
It was a group effort on the Allies part, and a lot of people died for their countries regardless of their side.
Our contributions to WW2 does not give the US the right to tell other countries how to conduct their affairs. Our interference in outher countries has led to things like the Iranian hostage taking.
