How many vanity plates does Arizona Have? I have a house there, and have been to the DMV and I can tell you they have a lot. I am in Arizona every two weeks and I still see Arizona plates I think are from another state until I get close enough to read the state.

I am telling you my experience from a first hand perspective as a former cop, but if you want to think it is some kind of conspiracy be my guest.

Thanks for the non-sequitur.I didn't say conspiracy,i said this isn't for traffic cops it's so the revenueing cameras can read them.

And those vanity plates you are referring to extremely easy to I.D. and besides, enter the plate in your MDT and if you have a match to the vehicle-three guess what state the plate is from.

You have to enter the state on the MDT when you run a plate, and for rollers you are supposed to run via the radio for safety reasons. The dispatchers also need to know the state to run it. The first words out of your mouth on a roller is the state, then the numbers and letters.

I am not saying you are wrong, I am just telling you that it does cause a problem when you don't know what state the plate is from. If I am trying to run a roller and can't, I have to walk up on a car that I don't know if it is stolen or not.
