French women's obesity and overweight levels are extremely low (11% obese and 25% overweight) http://www.nature.com/ijo/journal/v2.../0801940a.html v. US (33% obese and 60% overweight)
http://www.womenshealth.gov/faq/over...eight-loss.cfm.

Say what you want about French men, French cars and/or the French Military, US women could learn something from French women.

In a first lady face off, its not even close. And neither Laura Bush nor Cindy McCain would have won this battle either. Anyone want to revisit a Fred Thomson candidacy to address the first lady face off with the french? How come this was never made a campaign issue?

That's two French-gushing posts in a row. You have reached the maximum allowed.

One word: Jerry Lewis.

Again..."they" done damn good today on the high seas, which has not a damn thing to do with the subjects of your posts.

Please allow me one more link to demonstrate exactly what we are talking about. Yeah its great the French finally stood up to somebody -- the Somalian Navy? no less.

But the French First Lady is outrageously beautiful and has been photographed naked. In the battle of uber males, i.e. world leaders -- how do we allow this outrage to happen. A vote for Fred Thompson?

Pirates in Somalia vowed revenge on the U.S. and French.

"We sent out 14 boats full of well-armed men, and we are looking for vessels of U.S. and French nationals," said Hassan Mohamud, a pirate leader based Gara'ad in Puntland.

It's about to get really exciting and deadly..........

I would trade Obama for Zarcozy in a second, and this is coming from a person that was boycotting French goods until recently.

Just got to thinking about this. This escalation in piracy just might be the front edge of bigger stuff. Yeah, we got 3 of them. But this DOES remind me of Clintonesque style of dealing with terror (and thats what this really is folks).

I have to think that if this stuff were going on while Bush was popular, there would have been a lot more than three dead pirates by now.

Maybe history is repeating itself?

1066 - Battle of Hastings
1346 - Battle of Crecy

... The Revolutionary War. Their assistance. But that is a minor blip on the radar, eh?

So you are back to eating French bread, drinking French beer, and driving Le Car? Seriously, though - I can't think of a single French product I use with any sort of frequency.

Mike,
You are probably right - I think Bush would have gone after them with a bit more zeal. The problem is that he would have also attacked Pittsburgh once he discovered that they also had Pirates. Then he probably would have gone on to Tampa Bay to wipe out the Buccaneers terrorising the Gulf of Mexico.
And the FSM religion would be blamed for all pirates even though most pirates do not follow FSM.

Sorry guys - couldn't resist!

Steve

Yeah - no great loss regarding Pittsburgh and TB from my end of things either - I am more concerned with the FSMers.
