Witnesses said the naked girls in Bihar state plowed the fields and chanted ancient hymns after sunset to invoke the gods. They said elderly village women helped the girls drag the plows."

I think I understand why the naked girls are unmarried and pulling plows.
They get mistaken for cows !

Sure. In India cows are sacred so they would not embarrass a cow by making it pull a plow. And you notice they were young girls. Much better to look at than old women.

I would guess that RPM means Rumps Plowing Maximun.........How about the Dyno operator....measuring RPM's and hoping for rain.
