Cambridge Police Officer To Obama: Butt Out of My Arrest

His original (”stupidly”) remark had two problems:

IGNORANCE - he didn’t have the facts
and
PREJUDICE - he presumed Crowley was guilty, then exacerbated it by explicitly linking the incident to “racial profiling” (”a fact”).

Yesterday’s non-apology addressed the ignorance. He supposedly figured out in a 5-minute conversation that Crowley is a “good man” and “outstanding police officer”.

But he did NOT address his prejudice...the presumption of guilt just because Crowley is white. He’s counting on the media acting as if he’s addressed the whole snafu. But he hasn’t.

When O talks about a “teachable moment”, he really means US, not him. Reporters should keep up the pressure, demanding that he address the PREJUDICE in his original comments. Our teachable moment should be that presuming racial motivations where none exist is the primary reason “race is still a troubling aspect of our society”.

The very fact that our POTUS has now revealed himself to be Prejudice against white people is very troubling.

What Obama should have said:
“I jumped to an incorrect conclusion based on the race of two people. When people make assumptions that someone is guilty based simply on race rather than on facts, like I did, it perpetrates racism within our society. We all need to work on judging people not by race rather by thier true ‘content of character.’ I am sorry for judging this situation based on race and not on the facts. I hope that all Americans, whatever race they may be, will work to end this type of behavior for the good of our Nation.”

Unfortunately, the facts are these:
Obama called Crowley's actions "stupid" and has never apologized for that.
Obama continues to call Crowley's actions "over reaction".

I don't need a bigoted racist telling me what is "teachable".

I hope all those who voted for this poor excuse for a stateman president are happy with their choice.

Personally, I'm afraid for America......I think he could transend to another Hitler or worse.
Why can't this man use his head, be honest, fair and admit when they screwd up.
I guess it's his pompous attitude, and his hate for all others of non color is too much to overcome.
It saddens me to think that most people (98%) are good, god fearing folks that are not prejudice and are just trying to make it in this complex world.

I hope he wakes up and then grows up, God save us.

He won't change and the only thing that will save this country is getting him out of office in the next election. In the meantime with some Congress people coming up for re-election, vote all of them that support him out of office. He is modeling himself more like Stalin with all of his Czars that he is appointing that answer only to him and bypasses Congress.

I agree, we are going down a very strange road.

The most revealing thing about the issue with Gates is that he is so clearly another person and instance of a pattern that fits Obama's other "close friends".

Racist, hate filled, angry, people who detest traditional America and the free market and whose seething hatred is only just below the surface...and in some cases always out in the open. Frank Davis, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Jeremiah Wright, Henry Louis Gates, even his own wife, Michelle (by her own admission)...and the list goes on and on.

There is a clear pattern here that the MSM knows, but refuses to report. And that is because most of them share this hatred.

Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market.

The bottomline is this - Obama is now proven to be prejudice against whites - that's confirmed and there is nothing that he can say or do to get that fact back in the sealed box.

Kind of off the subject, but I watched a show on TV yesterday about the ancient Greeks and their Govt. Every Citizen was required to serve a term in the Govt. and every one voted on what was done. If they got some person in there that tried to get to much power they voted on a banishing, which removed that person from the Govt. and banished him from the country for 20 years.

Wonder how our dictator would fare with that crowd.

Obama (and a bunch of Californians) stuck his nose in where it is not welcome, and without having a clue about what is going on. Nothing has been proven regarding Obama being racist - it is just as likely that he jumped to his friends defense as it is that he jumped to his black friends defense. Obama should apologise to the cop, the dept, and the country for getting involved in the first place.

Gates freaked out, and thought that his status (and probably friendship with Obama) allowed him to act like a self-righteous jackass. City cops around here are a tough lot, most of them are good cops, but they are not known for their patience. That makes them easy to deal with if you are a good guy and stay reasonable - I prefer it that way. Simply put - you do not argue with city cops around here unless it is in court. Gates left his brain somewhere else when he was talking to the cop, and playing the race card is an unneeded escalation of a situation that could have been handled fine if Gates had been reasonable. Gates is most likely a racist, though I'm sure if he grew up in Boston he would certainly have reason to be (not that it makes it right...).

The officers actions do not seem racist at all. I would expect to be asked to show ID regardless of colour. However, any cop familiar with race relations in this area should know that a black college professor living in a nice neighbourhood and screaming about racism is going to be more trouble than it is worth. Once Gates had established his identity there was no reason to take him in. The officer reacted badly to a bad situation created by Gates, and you can bet that Gates will sue and make a boatload of money.

Crawley needed to swallow his pride and walk away, and he would have been the better man than Gates for doing so.

Gates was 90% of the problem, Crawley 10%, and Obama another 100%.

I am of the opinion that Gates waited his entire life for an instance such as this. It takes a certain amount of dreaming and rehearsal to swear at a police officer....

An intelligent man would have been part of the solution rather than the biggest portion of the problem.

It seems a degree from Harvard has nothing at all to do with intelligence.

The cop arrested him for being a jerk (not exactly against the law), but even the scuttlebutt in gool old liberal MA is that Gates is a rascist jackass. Lots of radio play for the 911 call, and other things. A lot of people have said that they just would have wanted to hit him (Gates). This is big news up here, and is proving quite entertaining.

Actually what gates did would be against the law in California (where I was a cop), and it seems it is also against the law in Mass. as well. If I am on a call, and somebody delays me in my duties (yelling at me, not will to I.D. himself etc...) they can be arrested for a misdemeanor. If this was an illegal arrest Gates would have filed a lawsuit.
