Well, that turbo Volvo is worth WAY more than $4500, so there's got to be more to that story as to why it was traded in on that program. That car is not typical of what gets traded in for a new car.
So.. the govt "buys" the car, right? If the C4C buy ins are then destroyed, where do they go after that? Junkyards? Recyclers? Obviously the govt must make some money back at that point from whomever they are selling the cars to, which does make sense.
I just don't see the point of blowing the motors. Why not just brand them all with salvage titles? This way, if someone wants to buy the whole car from a junkyard or recycler, they still have to go through the salvage title process which in turn generates more business revenue?
