I think Jeff Gordon put a bounty on JJ. I know he owns JJ's car, but that's what is so diabolical about it!

I think I'll start calling Junior the Unlucky Dog. Or just Dog, if you did not catch the race. Jr. was running fifth or sixth near the end. He runs out of fuel, pits and gets a drink. Then he can't get it running, and dies at the end of pit row. Almost bringing out the caution. He finally got it started. I'm felling sorry for him lately.

Yea, he has had some tough breaks lately after running well for most of the race. However it sure made me happy to see Kyle Bush run out of gas near the end and not win. But I did get tired of the continual replays of JJs misfortune and the gushing over what a great job they did to get him back on the track. It wouldn't bother me to see him have the same problem the last two races.

OH, what is one to do! The best car and driver gets knocked out early on, Kyl craps out! Yea! , Kurt with a Mopar, wins a fan a million bucks and the chase gets better.
I hope JJ just comes back next week and kicks a##, after all he's the man! Sorry guys....you can talk the NASCAR conspiracy therory all day long...sounds like sour grapes. |

Not conspiracy, I just don't like JJ. He is not and will never be in the class of Petty, Earnheart, Pearson and all the really great drivers. Ron :) |
I do not buy the conspiracy idea either. Why is JJ so good? First he is driving for the best owner. Then if you pay attention to Chad and JJ's demeanor, they rarely get emotional very little ups or downs. Business and hard work. You will never see Jimmy doing flips off his car.
Me, I am pulling for Mark or Juan. As for Kyle, he has been one of the most pushy drivers in recent. I remember him taking Jeff G out trying to lead a race during a restart. In a car that was a fifth place ride at best. |
dont throw stones at me but i would have liked to see Kyle Busch win all 3 races this weekend, that to me would have been more interesting than JJ winning 4 championships.

I think the idea that there is some sort of conspiracy to have the 48 car win is wrong. They are simply better prepared and faster. I do agree that Jimmy Johnson will be thought of as the best driver ever in NASCAR - remember that he is dominating during the most competitive period in NASCAR history - when Richard Petty et al ran there were very few cars who could be thought of as competitive. As for Kyle? I think he is the fastest driver out there and I can overlook all manner of childish behavior as long as he continues to kick butt like he does. What Kyle almost did this week end was amazing - I can't understand what happened to the planning department that allowed so many teams to run out of fuel? I'm pretty sure they knew how long the race was. I was sorry to see Kurt Busch win - after listening to him bad mouth his team time and time again over the radio - to the point that Roger himself came on the air ( a few months ago) and told him to shut it - I would have thought that a less exuberant victory celebration would have been the classy thng to do. I would hate to have been Mommy Busch raising those two aholes. |
I don't think that JJ is treated by NASCAR any differently than any of their other "stars". However, right now he has a chance of winning 4 in a row so he seems to be NASCAR's star of stars. I have said in the past that NASCAR is becoming the WWE of motor sports. That lucky dog rule alone makes the entire program questionable.

Running out of fuel seems to be happening more and more lately. I think it has just gotten to the point that teams are taking the risk they may get enough caution laps to make up a few laps and it isn't happening. If they would do away with that stupid Lucky Dog rule, I think we would see less phony debris cautions.

I personally don't see any reason to talk about what Kyle almost did because, given the same situation in the first 2 races, I could have done it. NO ONE raced him in truck. Every single truck he came on pulled over. No one tried to fight to stay on the lead lap. In the Nationwide race, Matt Kenseth lifted while still in the tri-oval and let him go. Kyle had time to get back to the outside in front of Kenseth before going into turn 1 early in the race. No one drove hard to try to keep from being lapped and just pulled over and let him go. Not impressive to me. I have not yet watched the racing from Cup, so I don't know if he actually raced for his 'almost' win or not, but I was not impressed with the other 2. It was almost as if everyone out there had already relegated themselves to not being able to beat him. I got so bored with the Nationwide race that we went and browsed the souvenir trailers while listening to the race. At least it was something to do.
They need to somehow reward for every lap led, not just 1 led and most led. Somehow inspire teams to race each other throughout the race, not just in the last 10 laps. |
As far as JJ goes, I do not agree with my friend Ron on that one. I am a fan of his. I first saw him race off road trucks in San Diego when I was in the Navy. I met him back then, but not like he would ever know me. Heck I didn't even realize it was him until I watched one of the segments last year about where he came from in racing to realize that I met him on the day he won his first off road championship. I was impressed with how well that 16 or 17 year old kid did. But we all have the rights to our opinions and Ron has the right to be wrong. :p

I noticed that they all pulled over for him in the Nationwide race too!
It was amazing! They just all pulled over as soon as they saw him in their mirrors! Must be a conspiracy! |

Was it a fuel mileage race or a stratagy race. Kurt got fuel 2 laps after Kyle. Kyle ran out and Kurt didn't.
To me, If they both got fuel on the same lap then it would be a fuel mileage race. I would just say Kurt's team just had the best stratagy. The others could have come back in before they ran out. They didn't, too bad for them. I am not a Kurt or a Kyle fan. I am a race fan. Texas was a fairly good race and Talladega sucked big time. JMO, Terry |

Joe, The reason I don't think JJ is in the class of Earnheart and Petty is he never had to drive those REAL stock cars that they bought off the show room floor and then had to put the safety equipment on and they did not handle as well, as todays cars do. But I do think he is a good driver and he and his team work together better than any other team. Never any panic or the Curt Bush type *****ing at the crew chief because his car won't go to the front and it is everyone's fault but his. I think that championship he won ruined him. Kyle is one of the best drivers IMHO, but he needs to learn when to stick his car into a hole and when not to, plus work on his interviews as he comes across as somewhat of an arrogant little boy. Right now I really don't have any favorite driver that I pull for as Dale Jarrett was mine. What I really don't like about JJ is his syrupy interviews as if he is repeating a NASCAR dictated line. Like the time he praised the team for making up the 3 laps he was down. NASCAR did that as every time he was in the position for the Lucky Dog Pass, they would suddenly have a phony caution. But you have the right to be wrong also. :LOL: :LOL: Ron :p |
