Finally...New Avons are on!
I have had a few PM's asking some questions about my Avons. Thought I would post a pic and provide my first impressions after finally putting some milage on them.
For those of you that have ever complained about the hunting, flat spotted and simply tricky to drive Goodyears... go with the Avons! I am absolutely thrilled with them. They have no bad charateristics what so ever. Went for about 100 miles on Sunday with Karl and his ERA, all twisty, winding and at times very bumpy roads here in New Hampshire and my car was a completely different animal. No hunting, turn transition was non-existent... They are nearly boring compared to my "beloved" Goodyears. Next, we'll see how they handle on the track!
I just couldn't bare loosing the big letters and look that the BB's had so decided I would make some stencils that replicate the large letters on the vintage Avon slicks and sports car tires.
Thoughts????
