Cul, it really is easy to plug a tire with the tire still on the car. Here, I fished out a photo of my back Yoko on my Cobra that I plugged a year or two ago -- less than 10 minutes work, and I did not take the wheel off the car. The hardest part is just muscling the plug tool through the tread. The plug kit that I took a shot of cost less than ten bucks. You really can't do it wrong. Give it a shot, you'll be glad you did.

thanks to everyone who had suggestions...especially the really productive last two...i just flipped it over and dragged it with a chain to a service station and repainted the scratches and i am good to go...thanks again to Maurice who drove to the race track on sunday ...the hammer worked great and i will return it this week sometime...

Regardless of how it sounds, I am not trying to admonish you… just offering some sagely advice, I swear…
The other day I was talking to a motor builder friend about machining my block for Jesel “Dog-bone” lifters and here is what he said to me….

I laughed, but point taken. get the tool and do it myself.
Cobras, by their vary design require a higher level of involvement than most other sports cars. We all should be checking the knock-offs regularly, and be familiar with at very least the safety aspects of them..

The manager at Les Schwab on Bradshaw just south of Hwy50 installed all my new tires using my lead hammer 3 yrs. ago. He was excellent and a Cobra 'nut' (no pun intneded). He loved working on my car. I forgot his name. Hopefully he is still there.
(I didnt realize the original post was 2 yrs. old.... Glad you got it fixed)

Sorry but I have to say this. ANYONE driving with knock offs that dosen't know how to take off or put on knock offs or even to check to see if they are tight..........well I hope you are not comming in my opposite direction or in front of me!!!!! It is a HUGE safety issue and not to be taken lightly!
