				 Pretty quiet here.
Seems like with Jim selling his car, and the passing of Steve, it's pretty quiet in the NorthWest.

John, I have been tempted several times to break the silence. I have had the Cobra out a few times in the past few weeks. I love the crisp fall rides in the snake.

Too quiet at my place. My Cobra is still in paint. It should have been done 08/01/09, but he says he is doing more block sanding to make it perfect before the color goes on. I know the day I get it back it will rain the next 12 months :>(
 Thanks, Jim

				 Cobras up North?
I have a question for you guys in the NW Cobra Club. On occassion, friends in CA with Cobras will mention the possibility of moving and retiring in OR/WA. The the Cobra people questions come up...
A question that always comes up, is do they have Cobras up there (Other than the Portland Historics) and do they ever meet up, do drives together... what's the real scoop with the Cobra people up there.

What's it like, does anyone care to give us the scoop on Washington and Oregon meetups; who, when, where... annually, twice a year during good weather? Anything you can pass along would be be appreciated. Thanks.

There ya go. Hey, Hey,Hey! Nice, post some more! Nice cars, various makes, shop in back, one in progress... looks like a get-together to me.

Also took a look at the cascadecobras website. Very cool, both WA/OR folks doing things with all sorts of stuff on the calendar the past few months. Looks like an active Cobra club to me.

 | The cool fall air really makes the cars run fine. At least for us BIG BLOCK guys.
I took mine out last Sunday after work to run to Flying Pie Pizza and on the way home the slave cylinder for the clutch finally gave up. Been working so much that I have not even had the time to remove it yet. Hoping I can do it tomorrow after work.

Guess I'm pretty much done until after the first of the year.

Andy | Park Place has a black GT40 for sale.
http://www.parkplaceltd.com/inventor...rent=1&size=50
They have had it for a while now, so they may be willing to deal on it.

Things are definately slowing down as the weather cools and we're trying to finish up yardwork etc. before winter hits. I've been driving the Cobra a little but it will probably be put away for the winter soon and my time will be spent in the shop with my new project.Andy, I sent you an e-mail with instructions on how to post a pic. of your Webers. I'm hosting the photo you sent so it is quite easy. Sorry to hear about your recent sale.I know you put a lot of heart and soul into that car. Have you ever tried to get in and out of a GT40? I wanted to build one but after sitting in a couple at the Cobra Bash in Reno and talking to the owners, I'm going to pass.
Hopefully, I'll see everyone next summer.

Andrew, one of the GT40's belongs to Neal in Issaquah, not sure if he hangs out here much, but "Neal" is his forum name over at FFCobra.com.His was a kit from New Zealand, I don't think they're in business any longer.
The other one is a Ford and belongs to one of my neighbors.

Andrew, you're welcome to stop by anytime. GT40NZ was bought up by someone in the mid-west and ran into the ground. Not sure how many cars they made. It's basically a KVA/GTD space frame knockoff. There are about 7 40's here on this side of the cascades. Always happy to talk cars.
Better yet, stop by Doug's next time out. He has some real forward thinking body work ideas including a pre-top coat greasing of brat juice to improve paint adhesion!

With the economy slow, my business is about at a standstill. If I can survive as a business only the Lord knows. Selling my car was not hard as I had to do something to help my business. I do regret and miss the comradery and good times I had with you all. That is the hard thing to swallow. I visit this site at times to see what is going on. Thank you all for the good times. It is the people we meet along life's path not their machines that make lasting impressions. If I can, I will ride again someday. If not, look for me in the crowd cheering you guys on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be selling much of my Cobra collection so if you are interested look on Club Cobra and e-bay. I will place on Club cobra the most rare of the items I have first. First to go will be my original 1963-64 Cobra Team Jacket. Listed in the Shelby America Original Archives 1962-1965 pg 45 " Probably the most famous and recognized racing team jackets of all time The 1963-64 Shelby American Cobra team jacket is one of the most sought after collector's items in the world"
