2011 NW Club Cobra Coastal Cruze (Aug 19-21, 2011)
I will be leading the charge on the 2011 Coastal Cruze . Please see the following for all the details:

When: Aug 19-21st 2011

Where: Starting in Lakewood, WA - at the Park & Ride off SR512 and I-5, ending in Florence, Oregon.

What: This will be 3 days of fun filled Cobra adventure! The plan is to leave the Park & Ride on Fri. Aug. 19th at 8 AM Sharp. We will head South towards Montesano and then down to Astoria OR. We will then continue to Seaside, Oregon where we will stay at the Shilo Ocean Front Inn. We should arrive in Seaside by lunch time. You can then explore all that Seaside has to offer and meet up with the Cascade Cobra brothers who will also join us!

Sat. Aug. 20th we will leave Seaside as a group and head South on the Coast Hwy 101 to Tillamook where we will stop for a tour of the Tillamook Dairy & sample fresh milk, cheese, & ice cream. Once back on the road, we'll travel to Florence, OR. which is the final destination. Our accomodations are at the Three Rivers Hotel and Casino and there will be plenty of time to explore old town Florence and take in all the local attractions. Plan on a group dinner at the Three Rivers.

Sun Aug. 21st we will leave Florence at 8:30 AM and head back up Hwy 101 to Lincoln City where we will have time to explore a little and have a quick bite to eat. Then off towards Portland where we will wave good-bye to the Cascade group and we will motor back up I-5 for the Tacoma area.

I have made reserved a block of 20 rooms for Seaside and Florence. I recommend making reservations early for the best room selections. I did secure better room rates based on the group rates. The rooms at both locations will be held under "Northwest Club Cobra" You need to tell them you are in that group to get the special price.

The contact number for the Seaside Shilo Ocean Front Hotel is 503-738-9571. They have a covered parking gargage and we will have reserved parking for the group. Room rates are $129 City View, $169 Partial Ocean View, and $229 full Ocean View.

The contact number for the Tree Rivers Hotel is 877-3-RIVERS. They will also reserve a special parking area for the group, however they have no covered parking. I would bring a car cover in case it is misty. Room rates are $109 for rooms with one king or 2 queens. The rooms with the Kings will go quick so book early.

If you have never driven 101 in a Cobra you are missing out! I have spent a lot of time planning the route and I think everyone will have a great time. It is hard to beat the views and twisty roads that we will be driving. I will also be taking lots of pictures and will compile them into a photoshow for you to enjoy and remember the trip with. Please post if you will be joining us on the trip

Thanks, Jake

I will just be returning from a 3 week tour in the Cobra, so Karen and I will not be able to make this.
Here is a great pizza place in Lincoln City.

 Jake,
If you don't have any volunteers for FFCars yet I'll get this posted. I can also do any liaison work that needs to be done with FFCars. I guess that means that Gay and I will be joining you for the Florence run. Sounds like a great time to me. Thanks for being the lead on this.

Actually we may be able to meet up with you on Saturday in Florence on our way home. Need to see how the schedule works out and the weather on the coast.

Thanks Bruce for the info. My wife and I would love to join. I'll book hotels tomorrow.
If anybody up north of Seattle wants to meet up. Let me know. Otherwise we'll see you at the Lakewood Park and Ride!

Jake:Have my rooms booked. Will be driving up from Portland on Thursday and staying over in Lakewood so I can meet up on Fri. morning.
Quick question. There are two Park and Rides listed for Lakewood. One on Tacoma Way and the other on Pacific Highway SW. Which one are you meeting at or is there another one I'm not seeing?

We are meeting at the one that is at SR 512 and I-5. It is kind of on the border of Pac Hwy and S. Tacoma Way.
