Good Perry, we'll tighten things up as we get closer. I should go back and count, but I guess we have about 15 on the run.

8:00 out of Mt Vernon, lets see that means about a 4:AM get up for a 5:00 group up and then a 2 hr drive, get a bite to eat and be ready to leave at 8:AM. It could be even earlier for some who live further south. I would just as soon we slip it an hour at least.

Here is some more ammo for you. Had to pull the motor last week, had a unwanted noise coming from the right side. Just shipped it out with my builder for a complete tear down & rebuild. Lost the rod bearings on the right side. Builder has accepted the screw up.

Hi Fred,

Was looking for input, so will be looking at 0900.

How long till you get the old "Y" block back? What caused the bearings to go flat?

Bish, thanks for the info on the Motels but there has been a change of plans. We will spend the night at home and hook up with the group at the ungodly hour of 05:00. Fred, where are you hooking up with the group- Shari"s in FW???

Bish, where are we meeting up with your group in Mount Vernon??

Ron,

I'm not sure yet where we will meet up, but probably in the Lowe's parking lot if we leave from Mount Vernon.

Been thinking about meeting at Arlington (exit 208 for those who are scoring at home) and picking up Hwy 9 right there instead of fighting our way through Mount Vernon. BTW, we are going to take hwy 9 to the Sumas border crossing.

There is a Denny's there on the South side of exit 208 and "The Chalet" on the north side. I'm thinking this will be a good plan.

Default Need some input:

Quite of few in the group have indicated that they are going to come to Mount Vernon on Friday Night, August 1st, stay in a Motel and be ready to hit the road on Saturday morning.

Probably the best place to stay is at the Cotton Tree Inn (Ph # 360 428 5678), so if you think that is what you want to do, give them a call and make a res.

We are planning on going to the Big Lake Bar & Grill on Friday night. It is just down the road from my place and is a great place for fun, 50's/60's R&R and burgers that rate right up there. Will be fun to get a bunch together.

I know a lot of you are coming from about an hour and a half drive away so we need to talk about how we are going to do this run. Some of the group wants to get going first thing in the morning so as to get to Whistler early enough to have the day to play: i.e. rent bikes and take them on the gondola to the top of the mountain and ride the trails down. There will be two other car clubs there also. Porches and Corvettes so there will be a lot to see and do. The thought is to get underway at 0700 or 0800 from Mount Vernon which will put us in Whistler before noon. We have talked about going in a couple of groups. Those that want to leave early can do that and those that want to leave later can meet up with the rest in Whistler. I never know how many cars will actually show up, but I think we are about 20 including the Canadian cars that will hook up with us on the way.

It's fun to go in one big caravan, but that may be hard to do.

The plan is to meet at Lowes parking lot in Mount Vernon and leave from there via Hwy 9 to Sumas.

Can you guys down south get here by 0800 or do you want to find your own way there?

Default Whistler

Okay boys and girls:

We are meeting at Lowes parking lot at 0800 on Saturday morning August 2. That is I-5 exit 227. Take the exit, turn left (if coming from the South), go under the Fwy and Lowes will be in front of you. From the north, turn right.

Those of you coming on Friday night. Let me know who you are. We will plan on meeting at the big Lake Bar and Grill at 7:30, but I need to make reservations so I need a head count please. Soon.

You Canadian guys: I need to know where we are going to meet up (exit #) and what time.
