As I said earlier it was 77F in Houston yesterday, did get a chance to drive the cobra, getting a roof put on the house after Hurricane Ike. I guess we all have our bad seasons.

I've been sick of it since December 1st. & we haven't even had any snow yet!
I miss not going to the Saturday night cruise hang out.
Woke up to a temp of 7 degrees here in Oklahoma but thank God, no snow yet. Todays high in the 20's, Monday around 30 and slowly warming up the rest of the week.
Christmas is supposed to be dry & about 56 degrees! If that holds out, I'll be taking the Cobra to the relatives place for Christmas dinner!
The rest of the weekend is supposed to be in the 50's too, I hope so!
I'm counting down the weeks until spring!

We get a period from early December to late January or early February where it is overcast an no sun (except very rarely) it is real depressing. Hard to keep a good attitude.

After the last snow, we can move on to spring if that's okay with the rest of you.

Oh Yeah! They are a special soft compound that gets sticky when they get cold. But they will cause your framulator to plug if you leave them on to long.

Chesnuts roasting on a open fire...
Jack Frost nipping at your nose ...tiny tots with their eyes all a glow.... sorry about that, but it is just beautiful up here in the Cascades. Mission Ridge oppened a couple weeks ago, there are two feet of light powder. I know winters are pretty bad on the West Side and I hope you get some relief, but over here we are well equipted to cope or even enjoy it. SPO2811 has been in hibernation since Oct and won't come out till next April and in the meantime.... I am too old to waste time, there is skiing and snowshoeing, and snowmobiling and ice fishing and sledding and jumping out of the hot tub to make angels in the snow (for kids only), Gonzaga Basketball ...and I will be headed south after the 1st !!!

I live out in western Washington State. Snow here is rare and usually short lived. Its been here over a week (since I started my use or lose vacation). It's snowed frezing rain slightly melted and more snow and refrozen. It goes crunch. They are prepaire to clear snow off the hyways through the passes but not city streets. 6 inches of compated snow and ice. Big holes. The tire stores are busy. I want to get up in the attic above the car but can't get the garage doors open to push the car outside. I can't get the gate to the alley open to get the garbage taken care of. I'll have a window of time this afternoon to shovel some of the snow to clear the gate and garage doors. As a kid in Iowa I used a #9 scoop shovel to clear snow. Now all I have is a long handled flat nosed shovel. It seems like using a set of tweezers. It's supposed to get to 36° between noon and 4 O clock then back to freezing and more snow and then rain at near 32° or less. This isn't normal for this area.

It is more than miserable...
It is actually dangerous on the west side when this happens... the poor moms with kids and jobs and day care and school closures... I used to live in Kirkland and commute on 520 . Worked on 2nd , just above the Public Market. The first winter I was there, it started to snow about 10 am.... the boss told us to go home...well, hell, what for ? Just a little snow...we all went over to this neat bar that had windows at street level (I can't remember the name) and drank toddies and sang songs and watched the street scenes. That was when the Mothers were just pissed and so there was more drinking and driving . When we started home about 2:30 pm we found out why he sent us home !!! What a mess....wrecks...abandoned cars....I damn near pissed my pants sitting on that fricken bridge....didn't get home till 3 am.... never made that mistake again

I went out on a quest to get a scoop shovel like I used as a Kid. Not an original idea every store had a big empty where they used to keep their shovels.

Well it's going to be a white Xmas. With 5 more inchs last night, but sunny during the day the skiing was great. It's Range Rover weather.
Mark.
By the way: Jack Frost was a Cobra Drive...(at least in the SF region in the 60 & 70s).

Christmas and Australia summers...
Well it is meant to be summer here, but we have just had a weekend of the heaviest rain for some time - 75mm or 3" in the majority of the southern ocean areas.
A little better this weekend with real summer at 25c - 80f.
Merry Christmas to all
