				 Now I can find it!
Excellent. No problemo I'll flip a coin and start out heading North for heads and South for tails in in a few hundred miles I might get there.
Got it covered!

ez from i5, ex 133n, 705n to 509w, left on Pacific, right on S Tac Wy and it's a couple miles and couple hundred feet elevation gain to the Lucky Silver.
Watch out for urban campers along the road in the gulch.

Just got back. Great turnout. There was a buttload (U.S. measurement, not metric) of nice rods there, only 2 Cobras (I took my '38). Lots of nice folks and set up well. |

Nice time. Good crowd and a lot of cool rides. It seems some didn't notice the "pre 80", but it was nice to see the late model stuff too. Thanks for the heads up.

The plan is for it to be a regular thing on Saturdays. My Google Earth tells me that there are 100 parking spaces out front and they were mostly used up. The contact person for this and other similar events is Howard Jenkins 23.831.5059 or howards53chevy@msn.com . Now while I do love my auto anarchy, it is not realistic to employ it in crowded venues. I promise to behave, mostly. I rarely continue a burnout into third gear.

I like that there were some other years and interpretations present. New custom cars are okay with me because it is all about love of iron even if the block is aluminum and the body is plastic. The kids with the lowriders and hydraulics were entertaining as well and the retro rust bunch is fun with their new interpretation of the hobby.

The only group with which I may find difficulty would be the "is it real" crowd. They are fun to debate though. My first Q is "What did you drive here?"

I feel bad. I promised several people I would be there but I wasn't. Unfortunately, I'm a whore. My dept. called me for overtime and I accepted. If the weather is good next Sat., I'll be there.

It's kinda like the question: "Is Santa real?". I always figure that anyone that asks either that question or "Is that Cobra real?" really doesn't want to know the answer, and if they knew better wouldn't ask the question. I'm always willing to help them out and say "Yes" I figure it is a much better story they walk away with than: "Guess what, I met a guy that bought a kit Cobra from a guy who bought it from the guy who built it!". Anyway, if I tell them the truth they get the look on them that my x-wife had on the night of our honeymoon. |

				 Is it Real?
Another reply I find with the old "Is it Real?" question is, "You tell me." They never can.
I made it down the Tacoma Lanes but arrived a little late sicne I was driving down to Oregon (oops I ment Tacoma) from Alaska.... My snake has a charging issue and since I knew I would be driving back in the dark, I left it at home. By the time I got to Tacoma, I spotted one Black with Grey stripes Cobra, but after I hid my (pre-1980's...NOT) Z06, and walked over Black-n-Grey was gone...

I think I saw every blower manufactured for street rods, and then a couple more.
It was fun but this weekend is Memorial Day so I won't be back down in Tacoma for a couple weekends, this time with the Snake! Hope to see ya all!

 Kevin,
Black and grey is me. There was a red Cobra there when I pulled in but was gone by the time I got parked.
 Sorry I missed you.

I believe the red one was Skonebone (Jack). Looks like it's going to be nice next Sat. Anyone want to try this again?

It actually looks like we may be closing down completely this weekend, so I should be able to make it. |

Technically, Carroll Shelby is not real. He is a collection of spare parts grafted together to maintain life, therefore not original.

Let the masses beware! I think I might get to get the Cobra out this Sat. for a cruise down to the Narrows Bowl. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Well now it looks like I have to work on Saturday.
I will probably miss the run, but be able to make the gathering at Tower Lanes. |

Are we going on a run or just showing up at Tower Lanes or both? I'm in either way. Even money Jim (TOO) takes the OT. |
