All Mrk II cars were leaf spring , so all FIA/Slabside replica's with IRS Jag rears are not true too the true slab sides ? ie: ride Qualitity ? THis is my assumption , don't want too make an ASS of u and me . Tell if I'm off . Basiccally if Ihave a small block Slabside or a smallblock 427 (both replica) from the same company they will drive the same? Does anyone make a leaf spring 289 car? (Not FFR)
Kirkham makes a 289 model with an optional transverse leaf spring suspension just like the original, they also have a hybrid 289 which is the 289 body on a 427 frame with the 427 suspension. I believe the Shelby continuation 289 cars have transverse leaf spring suspension for that old timey feel.
My blood starts pumping, like any of you purists, when I see a leaf spring car. They are so cool!!! But would I want a "replica" with 40yr old technology holding me to the road? F' No! I'm glad to see that some of the Mfgs offer this but i think those that offer a more updated suspension are in their right minds
I agree 13 , I was daydreaming about owning a 427 and a FIA , so I would want a Diffrent drivig expeirence between the two . I am definetly not a purist I love the BDR's As much as the ERA's .
