The original AC Cars parts were die stamped and shape formed aluminum. The large main appearance sides were mirror polished and all surfaces hard clear anodized.
I have seen originals that somebody chrome plated during a restoration with little or no preparation that subsequently had badly peeling chromimum with still shiny anodize beneath it.
