Default 427 id Tag?

I have an Everett Morrison 427 Side Oiler. What year would the cobra be with the two round rear tail lights? Where would the after market id tags be placed? Would the tag type for the 427 be with or without the snake? Hand engrave or stamp? Thanks, Tom

I'm no expert but it appears from this thread it was a running change.

Rectangular vs round tail lights

I think the change was sometime in the 1966 model year but Cobra changes didn't exactly follow model year schedules. For instance, 1965 built 427 cars were titled as 1966 Cobras.

Don't know about tag details other than they were on top of the right foot box typically (or always).

Here is a good site for looking back at various original Cobras by their serial number and noting some of the changes in appearance that took place.

The round tail lights started with 3201 I think. It was due to regulation about a seperate reflector (bottom lens) being required.
