Street Cobras
CSX2001-CSX2200 a LucasŪ switch. (I think Nick Acton sells something but I am not sure.)

CSX2201-CSX2589 a 1956 Lincoln Premier push button switch. The original Lincoln switches were/are somewhat fragile and have been known to come part if handled roughly during installation or removal.
(Nick Acton sells modern made replacements I believe.)

Mid 50’s Lincoln Capri too. Maybe the Premier is a Capri? That I’m not sure.

The Lucas switch is part number SS5, or SPB106 and was used for all sorts of things. Readily available everywhere, new repro switches are sold for Austin Healeys, Jaguars, Massey Fergusons, Case, and pretty much every classic British bike on the planet. Not expensive - for example:

The repros can be had with either screw connectors or Lucar.

The basic 1956 Lincoln design was revived in the 1960s for some time period of Ford Broncos with a black button. Based on used switches I have held in my hands some Bronco models had white plastic push buttons under black paint. The Ford service parts for Broncos I could get at my local Ford dealer in the 1980s had push buttons molded in black plastic.

Default cut back door car washer pump switch

I went photo hunting while our visitors slept in this morning. I came across two interesting pictures.

First one, posted on the Ford site is a nice picture of one of the first cut back door competition roadsters being completed at SA. It is one of the first cars because it had the street car type front wheel arches. In that picture there was a radium tipped toggle switch fixed by two screws in the area a street car would have had a push button switch.

Second one, a modern image of what was shown as CSX2431 with a toggle switch fixed by two screws in the same area as a street car push button switch.

Neither dash panel had a label I could detect by their switch so those switches could have been for something besides a windscreen washer fluid pump.

Could someone please provide a measurement drawing indicating the jet position compared to wiper and other points?
I need to drill some holes to mount it on my 289 and I would like to do it right.

Each squirter falls about 2" toward the car centerline measured from the wiper hole centerline.

Dan,

One thing to remember is that the FIA dashes were fabricated bare metal dashes that had disticnt panel layouts for the, gauges, switches and other associated items. I would highly suspect that given this that the dash panels were completely new fabrications done by the SAI race shop rather than reworked street dashes.

I found the following picture on the Shelby Cars in Detail Book.
It is the Dash of CSX2345.


This seems to me a Lucas button as used on the pre CSX2201 cars..?

That could be a starter button or washer button. Could be a horn too if required by class.

Starter button

CSX2435 has according to the pictures the following switches

Cutler& Hammer
-IGN
-FUEL
-DIFF
-LIGHTS
-One without label

Headlight pull switch
-Next to the light C&H switch is a Falcon Headlight pull switch

Push button Lucas SBP106
-Start button

The Ford switch could be a wiper switch, although it doesn't have the same bezel nut the street car has.

The 427's I have examined used a Trico windscreen washer system with a Trico pump knob on the dash.

The white knob on the dash of 2345 is the dash light dimmer rheostat. The FIA roadster only used the on/off toggle switch to activate the lights.

As I previously stated the white knob on the dash is for dimming the dash lights only, it is a simple rheostat only and not a Ford headlight switch assembl as had been previously stated.
