You can lower the column with the "lollipop" as the dash opening is oval. You will still block much of the speedo. I never understood why the gauge was not raised like on a 427 roadster.

Yes, it is easy to do....in my case there's a spacer to move from one side of the mtg. bracket to the other, and it drops by probably 10mm (3/8").
I can easily reverse it if it doesn't look and feel right.
