Default Old age got me this time...dash layout of the twin Paxton car

This is about the twin Paxton blue Cobra that was sold at the Barrett Jackson auction in Phoenix awhile back. I drove all the way to Phoenix but even though I was there the day of the car's arrival, I missed Carroll Shelby driving the twin Paxton 427 in from Harley Cluxton's shop so didn't capture it on film outside. Since I don't use a flash i tried to capture on slow film* and bad light the dash but those pictures later turned out junk. Then I tried to write down the gauges in order on the right side but that's where my bad vision prevented it and I didn't want to climb in the what-would-sell-for-$5-million car.
Does anyone else know what the order is of the gauges on the right side?
Is the car displayed anywhere now that it has a new owner.....

*yeh, I now I should change to digital...

Sal,

Do you have 427 S/C dash images to share of "really good cars to use for accuracy"?

Most of the good car pics I have, I don't have permission to share publically. But there are some good cars on the web that are out there. 3042 is a good one, and it has the "extra switch". 3050 is another good, very original car. Both cars are on the csxinfo.net website.

Peter at ERA provided me with information on the S/C dash when I converted my street dash.

Dick (lamaluv),

Where did you source those floor mats? I've been looking for some just like that.

Paul, I think that I got them at Auto Zone off of the rack. I had to cut them down along the sides to get them to fit.

Default Dashboard

Larry

I scavenged CC for information and then made the dash to suit my car, will post pictures soon, but I reckon its quite original, and this is only my preference but I am using vinyl topping which is deck cover grain vinyl as used in 1960's classic cars like AC Cobra, E type Jaguar etc and the important point for my build it doesnt have padding or foam under it! Also with the topping I peel the fabric back off it so it is easier to manipulate and stretch when glueing to the dashboard.

I built a cobra in 1990 and the dash is still perfect after seeing a bit of sun etc with the tonneau cover topping vinyl. Computerworks etc have posted numerous good picts of different dashboards and the central gauges are quite close together, and there are some plans on dashboard posts which dimensions dont make sense.

Default dash layout

That is a "Street" dash layout.
This thread is about "Competition" layout.

Nice to see the difference.

Mickmate should have a good layout of Jay Bentley's CSX dash after last years picnic.

Sal is correct it has a street car dash, thankfully. The ones in the link are a mile off they have that awful shaped glovebox that someone mistakenly released to the market. The one Joey shows has the dropped center a la 289 dash. The SC's share some common dimensions with the street cars I can help if anyone needs some dimensions. Hey Warren you know about that little devil on one shoulder, now lets see I had Jeff on one side and who on the other........

Larry looks good BTW. Hey a dumb dash switch question. Fuel was an on/off or a two position? Does it switch between two pumps for a main/reserve or a valve between them?

Fuel was a single switch. The engine runs off the mechanical pump, then when you run out of gas, you flip the switch to the electrics for the reserve. You would also want to use the electrics for racing as they have a higher capacity than the mechanical.
