Most big block cars were 427s. I have heard that some cars came through with top oiler blocks, but were still 427s. The 428s came in some of the street cars, with an option for the 427 (although they didn't quite make that too public) and then they went back to 427s for the rest of the run because of the complaints.
I am sure Ron probably has more detailed data on it, but I can assure you that more then 8 Cobras had 427s  .
