Ned,
That would be the one! New old paint 3047, what a car. The car is a true original in every sense and a great pleasure to view.
Hopefully we will see it at SAAC34?

More small world stuff. Before the Cobra, I had a Sunbeam Tiger with a transplanted Hi Po 289 that I drag raced in 1967 and 68. I used to pit with the Rye Ford guys when they were running their SS Mustang at National Speedway on Long Island: http://www.dragtimes.com/video-viewer.php?v=2c_bTXtodQU I ran A/Sp, a class for which my modded car should have been illegal, but the drag racing crowd didn't pay a lot of attention to "them litle furrin cars", so I won a bunch of trophies beating XKEs, stock Tigers, etc.
We moved from the New York area in 1977, and lost direct contact with Carter, although a close, mutual friend kept us updated on his adventures. Although my wife and I were among the (very few) guests at the party the Dysons threw at Mandalay Farm in honor of his (very brief) marriage, he always struck me as a tremendously conflicted human being, a guy who had it all, but seemed to be unhappy in his skin.

Yah....
....ya lucky b*sturds. In '68 I was 16 and only dreaming about owning a Cobra, not helped along by having two of 'em in the Montclair/Verona area of Essex County in NJ. Marco's pics are especially nice since I spent a lot of time in the town he lived in during the 70's with friends.....never did see his car, tho.
But Island Dragway was much in use then, and there's lots of pics from the mid-60's on from there.
