Default Capillary tube firewall feedthroughs

I just ordered a set of Smiths mechanical gauges, going to take 8 weeks for delivery, as in UK we now have to have kph as well as mph on the speedo (new regs) - a bit of non-originality I'll have to live with.

Anyway, my question:

Does anyone have any definitive info, pics even better, of how the capillary tubes were routed through the original cars at the firewall at rear of the engine bay.

Also, I dont have much idea how these should be routed round the engine (best practice,/ original routing on sideoiler cars) - only ever used electrical gauges before.

Any comments/pics appreciated.

Kevin

Kevin,
It sounds like you are looking for 427 info, but I can probably dig up some pics of 289 cars if that will help.

thanks Jay. yes i am looking for 427 info, but anything helps.... id guess that AC would have predrilled the firewall for the gauges prior to shipping to shelby america , regardless of whether a MkI, II or III car?

if you have used these type of gauges before, any comments, good/bad/tips also appreciated.

Kevin,
I couldn't find any pics that clearly showed the 289 routing through the firewall, but I've put a pic of my car (which is done the same as the 289 cars I have seen) in my gallery. It is the "firewall" picture.

Are you just looking for where all the wires/lines run through the firewall? Have you looked at pics over at CSX.info? If you still need some, I've got tons of pics.
