I may be wrong here but I thought all Ford sb engines were black until '67 or so when the word came down from Mgmnt that they would henceforth be painted Ford "blue"? I know for sure my brothers 66 Mustang and my cousins '65 Fairlane coupe had black Hi-PO blocks.
