Remod,
First to identify your unit there is a tag on the pass. side where the two cases bolt together, it will tell you the model number and I can tell you from that your gear ratios and anything else you might want to know. As for the rev. problem, is it still hard to find rev. when the motor is turned off? If not then you probably have a clutch problem, if it still is then there will be something wrong inside, we can fix it here, you will be looking at $200 labor plus parts to repair it.
