Default Shifter

I'm looking for a shifter. I currently have a Hurst shifter in the car, a Cobra style, but I hate the Hurst boot, it looks VERY out of place in there. I would change just the boot but as you know, Hurst makes a flat shifter arm and all the original style boots have round holes. Soooo, that takes me back to looking for a shifter. If anyone has one or knows of one that's available, please get in touch. I'm running a Toploader.

Thanks,

Cliff

Cliff,

If you have a bolt on shift lever I have the original style shift lever that will bolt onto you shifter. If it is a one piece I can adapt. it for you but will need the shifter or I can sell you the whole unit.
Give me a call and we can work out you best option.

PS I have the boots and rings also.

Cliff,
I have a Hurst shifter, but its' for a a T-5 which uses a round shift lever. Used a street rod style vinyl shift boot with a small round ring. Although not original, it looks nice.

I think the original 289 & 427 Cobras used an OEM '64 Falcon Sprint T-10 rubber boot and ring. I've got one along with the matching ring for it. Was too big for my trans tunnel so I used the vinyl one instead. The rubber opening will fit the rectangular Hurst shifter. For a coupla bucks, it's yours if you need it.

Default Jack

Let me know what you want for the boot and ring if you still have it ? I'm thinking that I can just use that and change to an original style shift knob in place of this "thing" that the last guy had on there....lol. Why is it we never agree with others on what looks good....lol. That would at least solve the problem somewhat until I can find a better more permanent solution. Anyhow, I can be reached at hdheritage97@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Default The cheaper way

Cliff,

Go online or call Mark Harmon at Toploader Heaven (580-229-1779) I bought a shifter from him with the round boot and ring for about $50.00. I am pretty sure David Key can sell you the same thing for a reasonable price too.
