Here in sunny Arizona, just joined and I am enjoying the various chats. I just talked to Peter at ERA and I am placing my order on my FIA.
Does anyone know of a good engine place to get a 289 pre 67?
Does it make a difference when registering? Hate the emmision crap.

Snake. Congratulations on ordering the ERA. I ordered an ERA FIA in January, and got my chasis number 2118, and apparently my body is in the mold at this time. As far as vintage 289's, ERA has a local motor builder (Joe Lapine of Danbury Competition) that Peter can recommend. He has built motors for Peter personally, and for quite a few ERA customers, and he is in Connecticut. Do a search for ERA 2111 and you will see a photo of what I believe is a 1965 vintage 289 block that was built as a 331 stroker for a gent (Warren) who I believe is taking delivery of his turnkey car this weekend. There are others who can probably do it as well. Keith Craft Racing specializes in Ford motors and should be able to build just what you want. He has a great reputation, and Kirkham has been buying some of his 331 stroker motors with great reviews. Good luck and have fun!

You should also try George Anderson at Gessford out in Hastings Nebraska. He has built some very good ford engines for cobras.

Thanks for the leads. Has anyone had experience with Jon Barrnett engines? He advertises quite a bit in Goodguys.
