Default Title & Registration In GEORGIA

Can I title and register a Cobra Replica (Superformance rolling chassis + engine/trans) in Georgia?

I've been told by the dealer wanting to sell me the chassis it won't be a problem, but I've had two other people tell me that you can't register them in GA at all because of new legislation. Does anyone in the forums know the answer? Anyone register in GA recently?

Thanks!

I am in the same position as you. Starformance (SPF dealer) has apparently closed up shop near Road Atlanta. I want to get my Unique 289 kit and get building. There is a recent thread linking to the proposed rule changes. Do a search for Georgia registration.
I am seriously thinking of registering with my son in CT.

Superformance dealer has closed the shop across from Road Atlanta and has moved operations down the road a bit to a less costly overhead location. He's still a dealer according to the main distributor of Superformance in CA and that's who I'm working with. But he lives in and titled his car in NC so GA laws don't apply.
How do I find the thread about the rule changes referred to above? I can't find it. When I searched for GA or Georgia I got no returns.

Maurice:

If your considering registering in CT, reference:

Connecticut: Registration, Inspection & Emissions

The last significant change was last year when " Composites " , CT name for replicas and kit cars, no longer require emissions testing. With the CT registration your Cobra make name will become a Composite and the year first registered in CT is the model year along with a CT DMV issued VIN.
