fuel tank
BTW: that is a Mickmate special: stainless steel fuel tank to exact original specs, almost a perfect job by Nick.

Cobra is OK, but this is what I am PROUD of.
Nathan Norbika, adopted in Ozd, Hungary April 1998 16 months old.
He is 9 1/2 now and a great little boy.
Natasha Renata, adopted in Debrecen, Hungary October 2005 2 yrs. old.
She has only been here for a short time and already speaks very good english and is much smarter than her dad. She is a real cute little girl.
Two great Hungarian kids.

That's great! We have a couple friends who have adopted - it's special.
Here are my little underage drivers, my son Rich is 7 and Anna Grace is 3 (since were showing off most prized items and all!).

cute kids
Yeah, your kids are very cute. The Cobra is a distant 3rd in that race.
Your car is very nice. What color is it? I will check your gallery for additional photos.
BTW: My son was taking a test fit in the Cobra and he asked "Where does the cup holder go?" I was not sure what to say except, they did not have cup holders when Cobras were made. Later, Karl

Karl,
Not afraid of being different, I went with a 2004 Masseratti Metalic blue. I don't recall the actual "Paint Code" but came out better than expected.
Cup holders are overated - I improvised as necessary for such items. Have a great week. BTW, I was in & out of Philly a couple weeks ago - one of these days I'll plan ahead and take you up on the stop by. Later.

Why the 427 build?
Well, I wanted to build a 289 FIA car, that was my 1st choice. After I completed the coil spring chassis I was going to mount a FIA or 3002 body and that did not work out. Then I found a alum 427 body so I decided to complete the car as a normal 427. Regards, Karl

Fuel tank bracket
You are the 1st person to pick that out. I cranked on the fuel tank bracket too hard and my tack weld broke. I have all of the alum inner panels and the fuel tank in my way so I just snapped away with the camera.
I will have to fix that before it goes for paint. hahaha
Regards, Karl

Karl,
Do you still have the slab side shell for the car? I imagine someone might want that original shell, unless you plan to keep it?

Details:
Hello Bill, You do not understand. CSX2498 is a complete original 289 cobra. The only big change is a set of magnesium 5 spoke dragonsnake wheels. Everything else is just like it was delivered in '65. I have not touched that car for any part of my build.
The 427 I am building is a completely seperate car. I fabricated the chassis from the CR prints, and I fabricated most of the other pieces & parts you see in the photos. I purchased a complete CSX4000 suspension to bolt onto my chassis, and I just purchased a alum 427 body to cover everything. When $$$ is available I will install a 427 and a toploader to finish the project.
Regards, Karl

Karl,
Thanks for setting me straight. I should have looked over your photo's more closely. Nothing like having the best of both worlds, a 289 and 427 Cobra!
Makes me want to build a 289 FIA car.

the best of all worlds, kids, whether adopted or home grown and a Cobra, I've got two of each, two from Phillipines, two home grown and working on adopting another one from Europe. Now if I could just get the Cobra right....Cars look great, so do the kids....

Hey Karl, I met someone who said he was your brother at the carpool parking lot by the Limerick exit of 422. I've got a poor memory when it comes to names. I asked him his name twice, but I've already forgotten it. He said his car's serial number is something like AC04 built by Brian Anglis in 1978 and it currently has a shelby aluminum engine. He asked me to pass on an insult about your car. I don't understand, your workmanship looks great. I guess it's just some family teasing...
So just how many Cobras does your family have anyway.
I've got 2 home grown kids, but my wife is an adoptee from Korean.
