fastraxsg,
I will keep my eyes open for something on the salvage front. Last week a Lamborghini Murcielago sold for near $100,000. It was the wild yellow color and only had a little damage to the rear.
If you could buy a damaged car for under $5,000, even with the 80% import duty, it would be affordable. You have lots of resources there to do fiberglass repair so it could work out. However, Cobra's do not show up that often. It could be a year or two before we find one. If we get lucky and it's local to me, I can help with shipping.
Paul

Paul, no matter what happens I seem screwed here, was told after I double checked, no second hand cars can be imported into Indonesia...I also crawled around this "beauty" of mine, and the biggest problem is the frame in the front, its really high and dropping the fenders would require a frame cut too. The other consideration to dropping the nose down is that the motor sits so far forward, those two extra cylinders, it would stick out through the hood, could move the scoop further forward but would make it look oven odder. The rear might be able to be dropped more, will check after I get the lowered springs here. Seems if I rebuild the mount for the shock the tires can go farther up in the wheel well , not sure why it was made like this but might be some wiggle room there. I should see if there was ever a lowered wheel spindle made for the Torana....thanks for thinking of me....I'd probably go crazy being back in the States, too many choices.

Ken,
Would it be cheaper(or better) To build the Cobra you want in Australia
Store it and visit it when you want. I am sure one of the Aussie Cobrafiles
would help you out.
Heck, It looks like you could swim to Australia.
Just a thought

Nah, I'm not a strong swimmer.....I get back to the US each year to visit the family in Columbus, Ohio, my wife told me I should come back for 3 intense months and build one with gel coat, my brother offered me his garage for the build, but then there are storage problems and worrying about the car and longing for driving around in it. Plus I wouldn't see my little girls for 3 months and on and on.....we are still chasing shippers here trying to get one to work a deal for us, if that works, I'll buy a new Hurricane kit, they are working up a Right hand drive model. Meanwhile, I will continue to try to massage this bucket for awhile longer. I found out all my rims were out of whack when I had it aligned last week so after some paint and new interior, will be time for the new wheels. Sadly there are not any "approved" rims around so will make do with something else but for sure it won't be bling-bling chrome.
