Yep, with a uniform paint the looks changed. The doors and the hood lining up very nicely. I like the finish of the fender flairs too!

Just yesterday I took my Rangoon Red replica to the local A.J. Foyt automotive paint shop to get some touchup paint to deal with a few rock chips. Wouldn't you know it, their "spectograph" was broken (not to mention that the lady said it was wrong 90% of the time), so I took a chance on just giving her the paint name (at one time I had a shop ticket with the paint code on it, but haven't seen it since a fishing buddy allowed his ice-chest to leak all over my Cobra info). The match was perfect....her color catalog listed a Rangoon Red for something like 1962 to 1971 for both Fords and Mercurys. I really like the idea of making the primer the same color as the paint...have used the technique for some window trim on my old family home in SW KS. If I ever build a replica from scratch, that's the way I'll do it, too! Cheers! Dugly  |
thank you guys
i'm not a red car person but i like "rangoon red" i've added boss feature for rear licence plate light https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-M...1120114002.jpg |
