Five Cars.....$10 million
Hypothetical time. I'll give you $10 million in play money and you spend up to that limit purchasing 1-5 cars of your choice. You needn't spend the whole amount and you don't have to purchase five cars, either. Most of us know what the value of most of these exotics are, anyway. Have fun.

Cal
Probably pay $8 million or so for CSX2000 the "mother" of all cobras. It is THE ORIGINAL Cobra.
I'll give you back the change!

It is not my money, it is a gift from Cal. Here's my spending habits.
$1,000,000 for a killer Ferrari
$1,000,000 for spare parts for above.
$2,000.000 for maint.
$3,000.000 for repairs
$2,000,000 for tune ups
$1,000,000 divorce
$1,000,000 for the lawyers.
oops, Cal, can I have another million? I think I just went broke!
I need gas money too.

O K Cal, here goes the beer budget version:
A Duesenberg SJ roadster, either the Gable or Cooper car would be nice.
A '48 Chrysler Town and Country convertible with lifetime termite control service. Probably NOT the Leo Carillo car, don't need one that's hornier than me.
CSX2189 Previous ownership would likely command a substantial premium.
The Dick Flint roadster, sweet! Orosco's "restoration" has made it a better than ever car.
A Ferarri Lusso, preferably Sophia's, and two of my Italian cousins to keep it running.
The rest of the dough would be needed for appropriate storage and maintenance. Say, a fully loaded garage-ma-hal with full climate control and a luxurious BS area (meaning anywhere more than one car nut gathers).

Mclaren M8D for 1 mil
Lola T-70 (surtees) 1 mil
(and a Chaparral 2 A , C or D - but I'd have to steal one)

$3 million: Build a new state-of-the-art fabricating shop.
$1 million: materials.
$1 million/year: Hire Phil Remington to personally fabricate a new continuation series of Scarab, Daytona Coupes, and a couple of MK. IV's.
$1 million: Advertising to people who want to race authentic race cars built by the very hands that built the originals.
$1 million: Hire lawyers to bail us out of bankruptcy court after we can't find a way to pay the bills.
Remington and I will retire to some obscure part of Riverside and live off of our "Under-the-table" earnings and keep one of the cars for ourselves.

Turk,
You're right on with the Ferrari and associated costs. Been there and done that with an '83 308GTSi. 1st wife gone; new wife loves cars and Cobras.
Ferrari needs a new alternator, been sitting. Local Dealer quoted me $1700.00 (N0 JOKE!) I will rebuild what I have.
And you guys think CS is bad.

Any of the Hall Chaparrals, although I suspect that I have exceeded the $10 million limit by choosing any car in that collection.

One of the six street 962s. Just for the exclusivity. I might have just enough left over for a kit car like a ... well ... maybe a ... Bradley GT!
I doubt the 962 is less than the limit so I would have to get a:
Honda powered Elise
440 Magnum Plum Crazy 1970 Challenger Convertable
Send the Cobra to Dean Martinsen in Oregon WI to have some serious horsepower.
365 GTB Spyder, just for the sound.
Black Viper from one of the tuner guys.
Audi RS 6 to haul my friends around.
Use the rest to build my own road course to play on.
I guess a GT-40 replica would be nice too.

I really don't know how the budget would fare with this list.
Ferrari Barchetta
Jaguar D-Type (or SS)
Maserati 250F (preferably with a history)
MB 300SL Roadster
289 Slabside
Alternate: Maserati 300S

Jimbo:
The last Ferrari 250 GTO I saw went through the block at $7,000,000. I think you can balance it with a GT-40, though, that is under $1,000,000.
