3006, 2300, 2494 and 2260 all being restored at roughly the same time. Your head must be spinning. Let me know if you ever want to trade. I have a really nice Kirkham 289fia in my garage. I would guess 2260 for my car should be an even up trade, don't you think?
Seriously though, that is one sweet collection of Cobras.
2494 and 2260 are definately two of my all time favorites!

Regards,

Mike

PS - would love to see pics of 2494 and 2260

2260 was a labor lof love. it is a car that has touched many notable figures and had great success. many people have done exhaustive research and the findings will be published in the next registry. i am quite pleased with the sympathetic restoration drew serb has done in radford racing livery. TSR racing, who won pebble last year, is race prepping and assd the car. intent is to race the wheels off the car in 05 to share with everyone. |

I have a photo of a disassembled 427 Cobra in the shop at Investment Motorsports in the fall of 1986, piled high with miscellaneous parts. I think they were using it as a storage bench! The car was red. Could that be Cobraowners car? I bought CSX 2401 from Jeff Sime. |

				 2260
 csx2300,
I bet 2260 would be a blast racing around Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. Have you ever raced at Road America? I would highly recommend it. I would love to see some of your cars there some year!

Jim M. :That wouldn't have been Cobraowner's car. His car is blue with white stripes.and hasn't been painted since the '70's. (I owned it from about '74-'85).

				 What Serial Number
Can anyone identify the serial number of the 99 car with no oil cooler scoop. The picture was taken at Meadowdale in Aug 1964. I think it may be 2494 but I may be wrong. I think the 98 car is 2431.

Notice there is a third cobra in the picture, and is being tended to by a Shelby mechanic. Not sure whose car that one is. Great picture. |

Hey guys, I was bored and figured I'd re-read this whole thread again. I have a question that I'm surprised nobody has asked yet. What's up with that hood scoop? I know the car had the big vents adding in, and then removed during the resto, but where did the extra long Cobra Jet style hood scoop that's part of the actual hood come from? I've never seen one like that before.
Oh and Larry, if you are still looking for those heads and intake, if you haven't already, I'd try Rick Kirk. That guy has everything Ford performance related .

 Sal,
If you're talking about the scoops on the two cars up front, that scoop is unique to the 289 race cars.

No, I'm talking about the hood scoop on 3006. It looks like it's twice as long as a stock one, goes all the way to the front of the hood, and then has the CJ style point to it. In the resto pics you can see it's part of the hood and not rivited on.

That one-of-a-kind hood goes way back... it was all aluminum and had two cooling holes whacked on either side. |

 CW-
Jerry Hansen, from Wayzata MN if I remember right, was the winningest SCCA driver of all time amassing about 30 (40?)National Championship is every big bore class out there. He was a top 5 Pro class driver as well.

While I remember him driving AP, ASR, FA, FB, McLarens, Corvettes, Lola's, etc

His MO was to purchase last years Pro championship car and campaign it in SCCA Nationals. He usually won.

 A nice guy.

Pat... you are quite corect... Jerry Hansen was a big-timer for many years...one of the best in SCCA..27 National Titles.
..I just couldn't find any reference to him driving a Cobra.

Here's something I bet you didn't know...

Courtney Hansen, the babe on Overhaulin', is his daughter.

 I like her!
Is Fritz Mondale's daughter working for the Speed Channel now? I see her doing the Worlds Best Auto Shows show....

I was going to say I had never seen or heard of Jerry driving a Cobra either...not to say it didn't happen, but I was pretty close back then.
