That Essex Wire ( nice, Ron!) on the roll bar is probably for a camera. A lot of guys back then were taping their track performances. I would love to see that footage now.

So the early the car was pretty plain. I think I like that better.

With those guys driving I guess it was in the body shop after every race, so the decals and stickers got change a lot. In the video it looks like they were rubbing fenders and other body parts.

The Friedman book is out of print. I saw a new copy of one he did on the GT40 and Shelby. I should go buy it.

My Essex Wire Model just arrived today. It is the start of my next project.

I have some of those kits as well. I'm working on a few decal sheets for the Monogram 427. LOTS of cars to cover.
