Smog!?
Wearing a baseball hat definitely helps, because otherwise the sun reaches over the top of your sun glasses' rims into your eyes.
Smog maybe a point!
The windwings don't help too much. Instead I prefer to rest my arm on the door to save me from wind hitting my head. 
Not recommended at higher speeds, though!
I thought about side curtains for a while for longer trips.
