Hi Roscoe

Is this drawing still available?

If anyone is interested in the rivet pattern,
I took a photo of the pattern I have and put it up on my server at

Perhaps a PM to Roscoe instead of digging up a 14 year old dead and dormant post would have been in order

As for the proper rivet pattern, I have one of the template hood scoops (raw fiberglass) hanging on the wall in my garage. Next time you are in the states, you are more than welcome to take as many measurements as you want from it

I have spoken to one of the original SAI race team crew members (I am now the care taker of his SAI team clothing) and Richard Messersmith (original owner of CSX3018) when he was still with us (miss you RM!) about this very issue, the crew member said it was up to the crew that were assigned to that particular race car when it was being built and Richard informed me that the riveting job done on his competition Cobra was done very crudely. Until someone comes up with an original SAI drawing mandating the riveting of the hood on Cobra competition cars I'm sticking with the knowledge learned from the people that were there when it was happening.
One story Richard passed on to me was how his mother would call up SAI to tell him to come home, he said he spent that much time there and at Hamburger Hamlet. Home for Richard at that time was in Chicago.
