Default all kinds of problems :(

Well I've owned my shelby american now for about 4 months....and only driven it about 6 times...between fixing the slave cylinder, the power steering, the water pump...etc.etc...etc.....I still love the old girl but am getting tired of trying to find places that make parts for the car.....people keep saying FFR for things...but their site lists almost no useful parts, but hoodies and sweatshirts. I am looking to replace my saginaw pump and hoses from the cooling system. Does anyone know where i can get these, I know that the PSP can be picked up at auto zone...so no biggie there, but i'm curious where do you guys source your hoses and things from???

I don't own a SIA Cobra but I've worked on a bunch of the other brands. I buy a lot of parts from Summit, Jegs and Speedway. Summit is the easiest for me.
Most of the parts we need is Ford stuff.

Knowing who the original manufacturer is would be helpful. Forget about the "Shelby American" plate, as that is most likely not who the car was built by, but an over the counter aftermarket data plate added for the cool factor.

Bill S.

PS: Why not post pictures of the car, engine compartment, front and rear suspension, and trunk opening for starters.

Spoolin:

The best way to find a necessary cooling hose is to form the shape IE: bends, runs and lengths with a coat hanger or length of welding rod. Then take it to the Parts House and compare it to the preformed hoses. You may find you must use parts of 2 hoses with a short piece of metal tubing. These are Kit cars that utilize conventionally available parts. Make a log book with subsequent part numbers and vendors for future usage.

460 CI with Saginaw power steering pump - I know Spoolin wrote this is a Shelby American car, but it sounds like it could be a West Coast or Kellison though of course, 385 engines have been used by others.

Yes, photos would be helpful, as noted by mrmustang.

Shocking that FFR would't offer a bunch of useful parts for your 'Shelby'.
